본 연구는 러시아-우크라이나 분쟁의 역사는 물론 현재 진행중인 러-우 전쟁 원인과 각 국가의 전쟁 전략에 대해 고찰하였다. 이와 같은 분석을 통해 한국의 군사적 방향성 도출에 도달함에 본 연구의 궁극적인 목적이 있다. 연구방법으로 문헌고찰을 주요하게 활용하였다. 분석결과, 러-우 양국은 역사적으로 오랜 시간 동안 지속적인 분쟁을 이어왔으며, 이는 전쟁이라는 참혹한 결과로 이어지게 되었다. 러시아의 입장에서 우크라이나는 지정학적·경제학적 관점에서 상당한 의의를 가진다. 만약 우크라이나가 나토(NATO)에 가입하게 된다면 우크라이나를 포함한 동유럽 구소련구가들에 대한 러시아의 지배력은 약화될 것이다. 나아가, 우크라이나의 나토(NATO) 가입은 미국 중심의 세계 패권 질서에서 러시아의 입지를 더욱 좁게 만들기 때문에 푸틴의 군사적 행동은 어느 정도 예측가능성을 내포하고 있다. 이와 같은 러시아의 정량적 목적 하에 발발한 러-우 전쟁은 결국 현대전 양상으로 치닫고 있음을 확인하였다. 나아가, 본 연구는 이와 같은 러-우 전쟁의 양상에서 한국은 미국을 비롯한 주요 동맹국들 간 안정적 관계유지를 위해 노력해야 함을 제안하였다. 본 연구는 러-우 전쟁 분석을 통해 관련 기초자료를 제공함은 물론 이에 대한 고찰을 통해 한국의 군사적 방향성을 제안했음에 실천적 함의가 있다.
This study examined the history of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, as well as the causes of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and each country's war strategy. The ultimate purpose of this study is to reach the derivation of Korea's military direction through such analysis. Literature review was mainly used as a research method. As a result of the analysis, the two countries have historically been in constant conflict for a long time, which has led to a terrible result of war. From Russia's point of view, Ukraine has considerable significance from a geopolitical and economic point of view. If Ukraine joins NATO, Russia's dominance over Eastern European ex-Soviet states, including Ukraine, will be weakened. Furthermore, Putin's military action implies some predictability because Ukraine's accession to NATO makes Russia's position in the US-centered global hegemony order narrower. It was confirmed that the Russia-Ukraine War, which broke out for such a quantitative purpose of Russia, was eventually heading toward the modern war. Furthermore, this study suggested that Korea should make efforts to maintain stable relations between major allies, including the United States, in this aspect of Russia-Ukraine War. This study has practical implications because it not only provides related basic data through the analysis of the Russia-Ukraine War, but also suggests Korea's military direction through consideration.
