남북통일이나 우리 사회의 통합에서 가장 어려운 요소는 가치, 정서 및 문화 통합이다. 통일이라는 시대적 사명을 가진 우리나라에서 사회통합교육은 독특한 특성을 지닌다. 2022 개정 도덕과 교육과정은 통일감수성과 인권감수성과 같은 정서적인 차원을 강조하고 있다. 가치뿐만 아니라 정서는 개인의 태도와 행동에 종합적인 영향을 미치기 때문에 사회통합교육에서 더욱 세심한 접근이 필요하다. 사회통합과 관련된 이슈는 우리 사회가 계속 직면하게 될 것이므로 편견과 혐오와 같은 부정적인 정서를 감소시키고 연대감, 동질감, 공감과 같은 긍정적인 정서를 증진하는 노력이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 도덕과의 특성을 반영한 사회통합교육을 위해 교과서 집필 시 이를 어떻게 반영해야 하는지 살펴보았다. 2022 개정 초등 도덕과 교육과정에서 사회통합교육과 관련된 요소들을 분석하고, 초등학교 도덕 교과서의 집필 방향과 유의점을 제안했다.
The most challenging elements in the reunification of South and North Korea or the integration of our society are values, emotions, and cultural integration. In our country, which carries the historical mission of reunification, social integration education holds unique characteristics. The 2022 revised moral education curriculum emphasizes emotional dimensions such as a sense of reunification and human rights sensitivity. Emotions, as well as values, have a comprehensive impact on individual attitudes and behaviors, necessitating a more detailed approach in social integration education. As issues related to social integration will continue to confront our society, there is a need to reduce negative emotions such as prejudice and hatred, and enhance positive emotions such as solidarity, homogeneity, and empathy. This study examines how the characteristics of ethics can be reflected in social integration education, particularly in textbook development. It analyzes elements related to social integration education in the 2022 revised moral education curriculum and proposes directions and considerations for the development of elementary school moral textbooks.
