이 논문은 한국 문학을 대표하는 시인을 백석으로 선정한 교과서를 대상으로 한국의 문학 교육이 어떠한 방식으로 이뤄지고 있는지 살피는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 현재 시행되고 있는 고등학교 『문학』 교과서를 대상으로 ‘한국 문학의 성격과 역사’ 단원에 가장 높은 빈도로 수록된 시인인 백석의 작품과 교육 내용을 분석해 볼 것이다. 특히 관련 단원에 수록된 백석의 시 「모닥불」, 「여우난골족」, 「흰 바람벽이 있어」, 「국수」를 중심으로 이들이 지닌 교육적 가치가 무엇인지를 고찰하고 나아가 백석의 작품을 통해 한국 문학 교육을 위해 어떤 노력이 필요한지 개선 방안을 논구할 것이다. 이는 백석 시의 특징에 주목하여 작품의 교육적 가치가 실질적인 교육과 연계되어 이루어지고 있는지 확인하는 작업이다. 백석 시의 교육 내용과 그 의미를 점검함으로써 시 감상을 보다 심화․확장 시킬 수 있는 발판을 마련하고자 한다.
The purpose of this paper is to examine how Korean literature education is conducted, targeting textbooks in which Baek-suk, a poet representing Korean literature, is selected. To this end, we will analyze the works and educational contents of Baek-suk, a poet who is the most frequently included in the section of ‘The Nature and History of Korean Literature’, targeting the currently implemented high school 『Literature』 textbooks. In particular, focusing on Baek-suk's poems 「모닥불」, 「여우난골족」, 「흰 바람벽이 있어」, and 「국수」, which are included in related units, we examine what their educational values are, and furthermore, learn Korean literature through Baek-suk's works. This is to pay attention to the characteristics of Baek-suk's poetry and to proceed with the work of confirming whether the educational value of the work is linked to practical education. By examining the educational content and meaning of Baek-suk's poetry, we intend to prepare a foothold to deepen and expand the appreciation of poetry.
