본 연구는 유가 체계 내에서 ‘제가’의 도덕적 가치 재인식 및 그 계승 가능성에 주목하였다. ‘제가를 통해 무엇을 얻고자 하는가?’라는 질문의 해답을 구하는 과정에서 현대 가정과 사회 문제에 따른 제가에 대한 기존 인식을 재평가할 필요성을 강조하였다. 제가는 가정 내의 범주를 넘어 사회와 국가 차원에서도 깊은 의미와 가치를 지니고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 제가의 중심 가치로서 ‘화목’과 ‘순종’의 도덕적 원칙을 탐구하였다. 특히, 가정 내 구성원 각자가 상호 존중하며 역할을 충실히 수행하는 중요성을 중점으로 두었다. 이를 바탕으로 『주역』, 「가인」괘와 『논어』, ‘정명론’을 통해 각 구성원의 역할 · 책임 · 기여도에 대한 학문적 이해를 제안하였다. 현대의 성 역할 변화에도 불구하고, 가정 내의 명분과 서열의 중요성은 변함이 없다는 점을 강조하였고, 이러한 제가의 본질은 ‘~다움’에 근거한다는 통찰을 얻었다. 본 연구는 현대적 가치관 속에서 동양의 가정 문화의 본질적 가치를 재해석하고자 하였다. 그 결과, 제가의 중요성은 단순히 개인 또는 가정의 차원을 넘어 현대 사회에서도 창의적으로 계승될 수 있음을 확인하였다.
This study focused on the reevaluation of the re-recognition of the moral value of ‘Qi family’ within the Confucianism framework and the possibility of its succession. In the process of seeking an answer to the question, ‘What do you want to gain through Qi family?’, the need to reevaluate the existing perception of Qi family according to modern family and social problems was emphasized. I have deep meaning and value beyond the scope of the family and at the level of society and the country. This study explored the moral principles of ‘reconciliation’ and ‘obedience’ as the central values of this ritual. In particular, emphasis was placed on the importance of each member of the family respecting each other and fulfilling their roles faithfully. Based on this, an academic understanding of the role, responsibility, and contribution of each member was proposed through 『I Ching』, 「Hexagram of Qian」, 『Analects』, and ‘Theory of Rectification of Names’. It was emphasized that the importance of cause and rank in the family remains unchanged despite the change in gender roles in modern times, and insight was obtained that the essence of such sacrifice is based on ‘the quality of being ~’. This study tried to reinterpret the essential values of Eastern home culture in the context of modern values. As a result, it was confirmed that the importance of ancestral rites can be inherited creatively in modern society beyond simply the individual or family level.
