본 논문의 목적은 이순의 『홍범황극내편보해』의 여러 판본을 비교하고 『보해』 가운데 이순의 견해가 직접 반영된 ‘석왈(釋曰)’ 등을 통해 그의 상수역학 이해와 특징을 고찰하는 것이다. 현전하는 『홍범황극내편보해』 3종을 분석하고 비교한 결과 필사본 『보해』는 동산본 『보해』와 같은 계열의 판본을 저본으로 삼고 여러 자료를 참고하여 만든 일종의 축약본이라고 할 수 있다. 최근 발견된 동산본 『보해』는 현전하는 판본들의 내용을 확인하고 판별하는 데 중요한 역할을 할 수 있다. 특히 온전하게 남아있는 「범례」는 저술 의도와 기준, 참고 자료를 명시하고 있어, 『보해』에 관한 정밀한 연구의 토대를 제공한다. 일부 결락된 부분이 있으나 조선시대 『홍범황극내편』 연구사에서 중요한 의의를 지닌다고 하겠다. 박세채의 『범학전편』 수록 『보해』는 구성과 체제가 다르고 일부 생략된 부분이 있으나 대부분 내용을 온전히 수록하였고, 중간본 『성리대전』의 보주, 장품의 「황극내편수총명」, 한방기의 『홍범도해』 등 관련 자료를 아우르고 있다는 점에서 『홍범황극내편』의 종합적 주해서로서 가치가 있다. 이순의 사상은 서문과 본편의 보해 외에도 「내편수총명보해」의 81 범수에 대한 ‘보해’와 ‘석왈(釋曰)’에서 파악할 수 있다. ‘보해’는 경학적인 전거에 충실한 해설이며, ‘석왈’은 이순의 독자적인 견해를 포함하고 있다. 또 이순은 채침의 상수역학적 사유를 계승하고 있으며, 81범수를 홍범구주에 배속하고자 하였다. 이순의 배속 방식은 독자적인 면모를 보이기도 하지만, 일관성이 부족한 지점도 나타난다. 동산도서관 소장 『홍범황극내편보해』는 현전하는 판본 가운데 이순이 편찬한 모습에 가장 가까우며, 특히 온전하게 보존된 「범례」를 통해 각 판본의 특징을 드러내고, 이순의 사상이 드러난 곳을 더 정밀하게 고찰할 기회를 제공하였다는 점에서 중요한 가치를 지닌다고 할 수 있겠다.
The purposes of this study are to compare Lee Sun李純's edition of Hongbeomhwanggeuknaepyeonbohae洪範皇極內篇補解 with other editions and examine his understanding of number and image theory of I-Ching based on the parts that reflect his opinions directly. The study analyzed and compared three remaining versions of the book. The findings were as follows: First, the Bohae補解 manuscript housed at the National Central Library is a kind of abridged edition that was created by consulting many different materials of later generations. Secondly, the Bohae version housed at the Dongsan Library of Keimyung University was recently discovered and played important roles to check and discriminate the different editions. The content of its "Introductory Remarks凡例" especially offers explicit records about Lee Sun's intention, criteria, and references for his book. It led to a chance to conduct a precise research on the understanding of Hongbeomhwanggeuknaepyeon among Joseon's scholars. Finally, the Bohae edition of Park Se-chae朴世采's Beomhakjeonpyeon範學全篇 is different from the other editions in composition and system and contains abbreviations in some parts, but it contains the content of Bohae as completely as possible and encompasses a wide range of related materials, thus claiming its value. Lee Sun inherited caichen蔡沈's understanding of number and image theory of I-Ching and tried to assign 81 Beomsu範數 to Great Plan with the Nine Divisions洪範九疇. His approach had independent aspects but lacked consistency in some aspects. His book, however, holds important significance as the first attempt to annotate the entire Hongbeomhwanggeuknaepyeon洪範皇極內篇 in Joseon.
