이주 문학의 특징인 대항적 여행기에 중점을 두어 본 논문은 이러한 작품들이 이탈리아의 문학 이미지와 위치, 정의를 어떻게 변화시키고 새로운 ‘이탈리아성’을 정의해가는지 살펴보고자 한다. 필자는 이탈리아어를 구사하는 이주민의 작품이 일종의 ‘그랜드투어’ 전복시킨 의미로 보고 있으며, 이상적인 고전 문화의 땅으로 그려지는 과거 이탈리아의 모습과 대치되어 있는 현대 이탈리아의 모습, 즉 타자를 받아들이는 측면에서 보여지는 모순점과 정통성에 기인한 배타적 한계를 지적하고자 한다. 동시에 이탈리아 사회와 연관된 이주민, 즉 외부인이면서 동시에 내부인으로 살아가는 작가들의 이중적 지위와 경험을 분석하며, 이들의 시학이 이탈리아 정체성의 새로운 개념을 제시하며 문화 매개의 형태로서 독창적인 정체성을 만들어 간다는 점을 입증하고자 한다.

Focusing on the counter-travel, which is a characteristic of immigrant literature, this paper examines how these works change the image, position, and definition of Italy's literature and define a new 'Italianness'. I see the work of an Italian-speaking migrant as a kind of subversion of the 'Grand Tour', and in terms of accepting the other, the image of modern Italy that is opposed to the image of Italy in the past, which is depicted as an ideal land of classical culture. I would like to point out the contradictions shown and the exclusive limitations due to legitimacy. At the same time, it analyzes the dual status and experiences of immigrants related to Italian society, that is, artists living as outsiders and insiders at the same time, proving that their poetics suggest a new concept of Italian identity and create a unique identity as a form of cultural mediation.

Questa tesi capisce che il lavoro di un immigrato di lingua italiana ha sovvertito una sorta di “grand tour” e riguarda l'Italia moderna, che si contrappone all'Italia del passato, rappresentata come una terra ideale di cultura classica, cioè si propone di evidenziare la contraddizione nell'accettare gli altri e le limitazioni escludenti dovute alla legittimità. Allo stesso tempo, analizza il doppio status e le esperienze degli immigrati in relazione alla società italiana, ovvero artisti che vivono da outsider e da insider allo stesso tempo. Attraverso questo, si intende dimostrare che la loro poetica presenta un nuovo concetto di identità italiana e crea un'identità unica come forma di mediazione culturale. Attraverso le opere di artisti come Methnani, Pop Khouma e Fazel, oltre a recenti immigrati, si vede che il ripensamento dell'italianità da loro creato possa andare oltre 'loro' e 'noi' e diventare il 'terzo spazio' di Bhabha dove praticare l'archetipo della mediazione culturale.
