인공지능이 전 세계적 화두로 떠오르고 있다. 그러나 기술, 사업, 제도 분야에서 AI 기술을 성장시키고자 하는산업적 측면의 활발한 논의에 비해서 다가오는 AI 기반 사회를 ‘수용자’가 어떻게 대응해야 할지에 대한 고민과논의들은 여전히 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구는 전 국민을 대상으로 AI 관련 역량을 함양시키기 위한 기초연구로서AI 리터러시에 대한 연구동향을 실증적으로 분석하고자 했다. 체계적 문헌 추출 과정을 통해서 84개의 기존 문헌을선별했으며, 선행연구의 특징을 확인하여 AI 리터러시의 연구 방향성을 제안했다. 분석결과, AI 리터러시에 대한논의는 2020년 이후로 급증하고 있었으나 대부분 선진국 중심으로 이뤄지고 있어 국내에서 보다 많은 관심이 필요하다. 선행연구들은 대부분 탐색적 문헌검토, 사례분석과 같은 질적연구 방법을 사용하는 경우가 많았으며 양적연구 방법을사용하더라도 AI 교육프로그램의 효과를 검증하는 간단한 서베이에 그치고 있었다. 그러므로 향후 AI 리터러시에대한 연구는 AI 리터러시에 영향을 주는 요인과 AI 리터러시가 개인이나 사회에 미치는 영향력들을 실증적으로확인하는 연구가 활발히 수행될 필요가 있을 것이다. 그리고 연구목적이 대부분 AI 리터러시의 교육프로그램을 개발하고평가하거나 선행연구를 바탕으로 AI 리터러시 개념체계를 정립하는 것에 치중되어 있었다. 본 연구는 국내에서 AI 리터러시에 대한 선행연구를 체계적이고 구조적으로 접근하려는 시도가 거의 없는 상황에서 기존 선행연구들을특정 기준에 맞춰서 선별하고, 다각적인 방식으로 검토했다는데 의의가 있다. 본 연구는 AI 리터러시에 대한 연구의기초연구로서 활용될 수 있으며, 향후 AI 리터러시 연구의 방향성을 설정하는데 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
"Artificial Intelligence" could currently be the most trending word worldwide. The efforts to advance and implement it in the fields of technology, business, and institutions have been quite enthusiastic, yet deliberate consideration is lacking on what would be right steps for those who are adjusting to the newly evolving A.I.-based society. This study aims to build a foundation for the Korean populace to improve their own A.I.-related capabilities through an empirical analysis of the research trend of A.I. literacy. By analyzing the characteristics of the 84 studies selected through a systematic literature review, this study suggests the scope and direction for future A.I. studies. The analysis revealed that the discussion on A.I. literacy has spiked since 2020, but mostly in the developed nations, suggesting that a more proactive, indigenous discussion is required in the Korean context. Many previous studies adopted qualitative methods such as an exploratory literature review or a case study. Quantitative methods were limited to the simple design of a survey to verify the effectiveness of A.I. education programs. Therefore, future studies need to prioritize empirical ways of understanding which elements would potentially influence A.I. literacy and how A.I. literacy would affect individuals and society. Furthermore, most of the research goals focused on the development or assessment of an A.I. literacy education program and the establishment of the A.I. literacy concept based on previous research outcomes. As there have been almost no attempts to review the existing literature in a systematic and structured way, this study is significant in its attempts to establish specific criteria for selecting literature and review the selected papers in a multi-dimensional way. This study is not only a fundamental reference for A.I. literacy but also sets directions for future A.I. literacy studies.
