연구 목적: 본 연구는 S대학에 진학한 성인학습자의 고등교육 참여의도와 졸업 후 기대에 대한 탐색을 통해 성인학습자를 대상으로 한 평생학습대학의 발전방향 수립의 기초데이터 확보에 목적이 있다. 연구 방법: S대학 재학 중인 228명의 성인학습자를 대상으로 대학 진학목적, 대학선택 시 우선적 고려, 전공선택의 기준, 졸업 후 기대 등을 설문하고 그 결과를 분석하였다. 연구 내용: 선행연구 등을 참고하여 대학진학 목적, 대학선택시 우선적 고려, 전공선택 기준과 대학 졸업 후 얻게 될 기대(성과)의 문항을 설정하였다. 결론 및 제언: S대학에 재학 중인 성인학습자들은 학위취득(36%)과 자기개발(18.4%)의 목적을 위해 진학하였고, 대학선택 시 희망전공(28.9%), 등록금(21.9%), 집 또는 직장과 거리(19.3%)를 선택기준으로, 전공은 분야선호(31.6%). 현업업무 연관성(30.7%), 창업 및 이직 등 미래준비(20.2%)의 기준에서, 대학졸업 후 전반적인 삶의 질 향상, 사회생활에서의 자신감 획득, 사회문제에 대한 관심 및 이해증가, 전공전문지식의 축적 및 활용 등의 기대를 하고 있었다.
The purpose of this study is to secure basic data for establishing the development direction of a lifelong learning university targeting adult learners by exploring the intention to participate in higher education and expectations after graduation of adult learners who have entered S university. 228 adult learners enrolled in S University were asked about the purpose of going to college, priority considerations when choosing a university, criteria for choosing a major, and expectations after graduation, and the results were analyzed. By referring to previous studies, the purpose of college entrance, priority consideration when selecting a university, criteria for selecting a major, and questions about expectations (achievements) to be obtained after graduation were set. Adult learners enrolled in S University entered for the purpose of obtaining a degree (36%) and self-development (18.4%). The selection criterion was distance from home or work (19.3%), major was selected based on field preference (31.6%), work relevance (30.7%), and preparation for the future such as starting a business or changing jobs (20.2%). After graduating from college, they expected to improve the overall quality of life, gain confidence in social life, increase interest in and understanding of social issues, and accumulate and utilize specialized knowledge in their majors.
