This study drew the following conclusions by clarifying the aspects of Chinese fictive motion, generation mechanism, and construction meaning of modern Chinese fictive motion expression from the viewpoint of construction grammar. First, in the reclassification of modern Chinese fictive motion sentences based on Talmy(2000a)'s six fictive motions, except for pattern paths, which is considered to correspond to factual motion, all metaphors and metonymic expressions that project factual motion into the psychological or temporal domain are included in fictive motion. Finally, the fictive motion of modern Chinese was reclassified into six types: emamation, frame-relative motion, adventl paths, access paths, coextension paths, and metaphor. Second, since fictive motion is the result of mental scanning by the cognitive subject, mental scanning inevitably refers to the scanning path, and we examined whether metaphorical fictive motion without a path is included in the study. As a result, paths appeared in most metaphorical fictive motion, and even metaphorical fictive motion sentences that do not have a path due to the use of ‘來’ or ‘去’ generate an abstract path called ‘horizontal movement’, or metonymy occurred in some verbs. As a result, it was found that the appearance of a path in metaphoric and metonymic fictive motion sentences is not essential. Third, the semantic feature of factual motion is [+motion] and the semantic feature of fictive motion is [-motion], but the big feature of fictive motion is that the cognitive subject recognizes that [+motion] has occurred. In addition, factual motion and fictive motion share all basic semantic elements, fictive motion is [-figure], [-motion], and basic semantic elements may or may not all appear, so it is said to have a whole-part relationship. In other words, it can be said that the motion events can be connected to the fictive motion construction through partial relationship connection, the fictive motion construction is inherited from the motion events, and the motion events dominates the fictive motion construction. Fourth, Modern Chinese fictive motion construction can be said to be a syntax created by metaphor and metonymy mechanisms. Among them, ‘emamation type’, ‘frame-relative motion type’, ‘advent paths type’, ‘access paths type’ and ‘coextension paths type’ fictive motion construction are related to the metonymy mechanism. It can be seen that the ‘metaphorical’ fictive motion construction is a syntax created by metaphor or metonymy mechanism. Fifth, ‘emamation’ type fictive motion construction’ has the construction meaning of ‘S spreads in all directions through the motion of V by the observer’s perception’. The ‘frame-relative’ type fictive motion construction’ has the construction meaning of ‘S moves backward through the motion of V according to the observer’s point of view’. ‘advent paths’ type fictive motion construction’ has the construction meaning of ‘S moves up through the motion of V by the observer’s perception’. The ‘access paths’ type fictive motion construction has the construction meaning of ‘moving toward the destination [O(處所詞)] via a certain point through the motion of successive Vs by the observer’s point of view or cognition’. The ‘coextension paths type fictive motion construction’ has the construction meaning of ‘S constantly moves horizontally through the motion of V by the observer’s point of view or perception’. The ‘metaphorical fictive motion construction’ has the construction meaning of ‘S(object) moves to the observer through the motion of V by the observer’s perception’.
