본 연구는 학교 운동부 지도교사가 경험한 학교 운동부 구성원들에 관한 이야기를 통하여 학교 운동부 제도를비평하고자 하는 내러티브 탐구이다. 본 연구의 현장 텍스트(field text)는 연구 참여자와의 4회에 걸친 대화 자료이며, A4용지 190쪽 분량이다. 현장 텍스트에 대한 의미(narrative meaning)와 사회적 중요성(social significance)에 관한 탐색의과정을 통하여 임시적 텍스트(interim text)를 구성한 후 연구 텍스트(research text)를 작성하였다. 연구 문제의 해결을위하여, 3장에서는 운동부 퇴보의 현상으로 운동부 구성원들에 관한 이야기를 제시하였으며, 구체적으로 다음을기술하였다. 첫째, 학생 선수가 되기에는 요원한 운동선수. 둘째, 불이익을 참지 못하는 학부모. 셋째, 순환(循環)의고리인 코치. 넷째, 운동부라는 짐(burden)을 벗고 싶은 체육 교사이다. 4장에서는 운동부 퇴보의 원인과 현재 진행되고있는 운동부 관련 정책을 비판하였다. 4장의 구체적인 내용은, 운동부 퇴보의 근본적인 원인은 엘리트 지향의 운동부제도임을 주장하고, 그 상황에서 오히려 엘리트 체육을 강화하고 있는 현재의 정책을 비판하였다.
This research is a narrative inquiry that aims to critique the school athlete club through stories of members of the school athlete club experienced by the club's teacher. The field text for this research consists of conversations with research participants conducted over four sessions, and it spans 190 pages of A4 paper. After exploring the narrative meaning and social significance of the field text, an interim text was constructed and the research text was then written. In order to address the research problem, Chapter 3 presents stories about club members in the context of the decline of the club. Specifically, Chapter 3 describes: first, student athletes who are reluctant to become studious athletes; second, parents who cannot bear disadvantages; third, coaches who are the cause of the repetition; and fourth, physical education teachers who want to shed the burden of running the sports club. Chapter 4 criticizes the causes of the decline and current policies related to the club. The specific content of Chapter 4 argues that the fundamental cause of the decline of the sports club is the elite-oriented club system and criticizes current policies that actually reinforce elite sports in this context.
