This study analyzes and compares secondary school textbooks and online news articles by text mining. Text mining research procedures were conducted in the order of data collection, data preprocessing, data visualization, and data analysis. As a result of analyzing the units related to the evolution of secondary school textbooks, the 2015 revised curriculum explained evolution from a macroevolution and was used in conjunction with the ecological related units. And the microevolution explanation was somewhat lacking. Online news articles were analyzed by dividing them into before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the development of the 4th industrial revolution was explained in evolutionary terms, and after the COVID-19 pandemic, many words related to bio evolution such as viruses, vaccines, and coronavirus appeared. In addition, the mass media explained the evolution of mankind and its evolution in connection with biotechnology. It is necessary to include this in the curriculum. Through this study, it is expected to be of practical help in the formation of scientific biological evolution concepts.
