목일신은 1930년대를 대표했던 동요작가다. 그동안 상대적으로 연구가 미진했던 것은 그가 생전에 작품집을 발간하지 않았기 때문인데 『목일신전집』의 간행으로 목일신의 작품에 대한 연구가 활발해졌다. 그럼에도 불구하고 본고는 『아이생활』을 중심으로 목일신의 작품을 발굴하여 『목일신전집』을 보완하고자 하였다. 먼저 목일신의 작품을 발굴하는 과정에서 『목일신전집』의 ‘작품연보’의 오류를 발견하여 오류를 수정하여 제시하였다. 그리고 발굴한 작품의 목록을 정리하였다. 또한 『아이생활』에 발표한 목일신의 작품을 다시 정리하여 목록화하였다. 이로써 오류를 수정하고 보완하였으며, 『아이생활』이 목일신의 초기창작의 무대였다는 것도 확인하였다. 또한 목일신의 발굴 작품이 갖는 의미도 살펴보았으며, 목일신이 『아이생활』의 독자들에게 어떤 존재였는지도 확인하였다. 이로써 목일신의 작품을 수정보완하고 연구의 토대를 새롭게 할 수 있게 되었다는 의미가 있다.
Mok Il-shin was a children’s song writer representative of the 1930s. However, he has been the subject of little research thus far because a collection of his works was not published during his lifetime; it was only with the publication of The Complete Collected Works of Mok Il-shin that there has been active research on Mok’s works. This study seeks to supplement the complete collection of Mok’s works by uncovering works centering on Children’s Life. First, in the process of tracking down Mok’s works, an error in the “Yearbook of Works” of the Complete Collected Works was found that is corrected here. Furthermore, a list of the newly discovered works is presented. In addition, Mok’s works published in Children’s Life are rearranged and cataloged. In this way, the errors were corrected and supplemented, and it was also confirmed that Children’s Life was the stage for Mok’s early creative works. In addition, we examined the meaning of Mok’s newly discovered work, and confirmed Mok’s value to the readers of Children’s Life, thereby ensuring that his work can be revised and supplemented and the foundation of research renewed.
