이제까지 청소년 사목과 관련하여 숱한 문제들이 제기되었다. 이들 문제에 대한 대안으로 2021년 5월 주교회의 청소년사목위원회는 『한국 천주교 청소년 사목 지침서』(이하 『지침서』로 표기)를 발간하였다. 『지침서』는 과학적 방법론을 동원하여 청소년들이 하느님과의 인격적 만남을 하지 못한 상태에서 그리스도가 없는 신앙생활을 하고 있음을 다루었다. 따라서 이제는 청소년들이 성당에서 하느님과의 인격적 만남을 할 수 있도록 배려하는 것이 중요하게 되었다. 『지침서』는 『한국 천주교 사목 지침서』(1995) 발간 이후의 획기적 사건으로 평가되지만, 모든 해결책을 제시하는 요술 방망이가 아니며, 또한 이를 시행하지 않으면 아무 소용이 없다. 본고의 목적은 『지침서』 발간의 의의와 활용을 살피고, 이와 함께 『지침서』의 한계와 향후 개정 방향에 대해 논의하는 것이다.
Until now, a number of issues have been raised in the youth ministry. As an alternative to these problems, in May 2021, the Committee for Youth Ministy in the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Korea published the Directory for Youth Ministry in the Catholic Church in Korea (hereinafter referred to as Directory). The Directory is evaluated as an epoch-making event after the publication of Pastoral Directory of the Church in Korea, but it is not a magic wand that presents all solutions, and it is of no use if it is not implemented. The purpose of this study is to examine the significance of the publication of the Directory and how to utilize it, and to discuss the limitations of the Directory and the directions of future revision.
