This paper explores the internal capital market and the investment-cash flow sensitivity in Korean Chaebol business groups using cross-sectional and time series data on total 3,677 Korean listed firms. The analysis period was from 2002 to 2021. The empirical analysis results are as follows. First, it was confirmed that an internal capital market exists due to own cash flows and other affiliates’ cash flows in Korean Chaebol business groups and the investment-cash flow sensitivity of company’s own cash flows decreased due to the other affiliates’s cash flows. Second, it was confirmed that the larger the size of the business group, the smaller the investment-cash flow sensitivity based on the company’s own cash flow, and the higher the investment-cash flow sensitivity based on the cash flow of other affiliates. Third, it was understood that the number of listed companies in a business group does not affect the investment-cash flow sensitivity of Korean chaebol business groups.
