This study investigated Korean college learners’ perceptions of paraphrasing and creating infographics. For the 6-week project, 44 Korean college EFL learners read one of the units from the textbook and created a bi-weekly infographic on the readings using Canva. A post-project survey was given to participants to collect data. Valid data from 44 participants were collected from the survey and interviews. Descriptive analysis was conducted with SPSS, and responses to open-ended questions were coded using the open-coding method. The results indicated that participants mostly had positive perceptions towards paraphrasing activities and infographic creation projects using Canva. Participants responded that there was an increased understanding of the original texts through reading and the paraphrased texts through reconstructing the texts. In addition, participants experienced an enhancement in vocabulary and noted that Canva is a useful platform for team-based projects. This study showed that participants found paraphrasing to be helpful in L2 learning and infographic creation projects on Canva to be unconventional and practical for future uses. Therefore, this study suggests that utilizing diverse online graphic platforms, including Canva may create a more engaging and active L2 learning environment.
