Our ‘present’ perception of language is within the framework of ‘mother tongue=national language’ and ‘natuinal language=standard language’. According to this equation, the equation ‘mother tongue=standard language’ is also established. But that’s not the case. Among Korean nationals in Japan, “mother tongue=Japanese” or “national language=Korean” is “mother tongue≠national language”, and most of the speakers born and raised in Busan are “mother tongue=Busan dialect” and “mother tongue≠standard language”. Therefore, Speakers who fit the equations “mother tongue=national language”, “national language=standard language”, and “mother tongue=standard language” are actually limited to “cultivated Seoul native”, and the actual population is rather “minor” even if you look at the entire Korean speaker. This study begins with the contradiction of the concept of “mother tongue=national language=standard language” in our consciousness, which has produced dichotomous and exclusive thinking such as “standard language↔nonstandard language”, and thus “natural” suppression of the right to express freely among the speakers. Therefore this study first examines the limitations of the perception of language inherent in us by examining where the perception of ‘mother tongue=national language=standard language’ began, and through this, it aims to create a small crack in the dichotomous thinking of ‘standard language↔nonstandard language’. And the ‘natural’ oppression on the speaker was based on the ‘language nationalism’ that language is a nation and the ‘language purificationism’ that Korean should be pure without contamination, so it is not easy to recognize the problem internally, so I want to confirm through testimony from Korean Diaspora in a bilingual situation. Of course, this study has this awareness of the problem, but there is a limitation that it has not provided a solution. However, through this consideration, it is hoped that ‘language’ will not be standardized like a railroad or screw, but will serve as an opportunity to change the perception that it captures diversity in the context of history and society, and that such changes can eventually enrich the language.
