이 논문의 목적은 현행 인문사회 학술정책에 대한 학문후속세대의 언어와 인식을 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 대학원생 대상 초점집단인터뷰(FGI)와 학문후속세대에 속하는 필자들의 언론 기고문 및 좌담기사를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, ‘신 포도’, ‘탈 대학’, ‘해야만 하는 이야기’라는 세 개의 키워드가 도출되었다. ‘신 포도’는 학술정책으로부터 지속적으로 소외되어 자신을 그 정책 대상으로 인식조차 못 하게 된 일군의 학문후속세대를 상징하는 키워드이다. ‘탈 대학’은 여러 가지 문제를 안고 있는 현행 대학 체제로부터 벗어나 새로운 인문사회 학술장을 만들자는 문제의식을 담고 있다. 마지막으로 ‘해야만 하는 이야기’는 열악한 처우에도 불구하고 연구를 지속해 나가는 학문후속세대의 동력을 함축하고 있는 키워드이다. 이 세 가지 키워드는 결국 ‘연구를 통한 자기 해방’ 및 ‘세상과 관계 맺기’라는 문제의식으로 귀결되며, 이는 ‘지역대학의 소멸’을 우려하는 시대에 역설적으로 인문학이 존재해야 하는 이유를 말해준다.
The purpose of this paper is to find out the language and perception of the next generation of academics on the current academic policy of humanities and society. To this end, the focus group interview (FGI) for graduate students and the media contributions and sit-down articles of the authors belonging to the succeeding generation were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, three keywords were derived: ‘sour grapes’, ‘de-university’, and ‘story to be told’. “New grapes” is a keyword that symbolizes a group of next generation of academics who have been continuously alienated from academic policies and have not even recognized themselves as objects of the policy. The “de-university” contains a sense of problem to create a new academic field for humanities and society, away from the current university system that has various problems. Finally, ‘the story to be told’ is a keyword that implies the driving force of the subsequent generation of academics who continue their research despite poor treatment. These three keywords eventually result in the problem consciousness of ‘self-release through research’ and ‘establishing relationships with the world through research,’ which paradoxically explains why humanities should exist in an era of “the extinction of local universities.”
