병자호란에서 이민구의 아내 해평 윤씨나 두 며느리가 포로로 잡힌 일은 강화도에 있던 사대부가 여성들에게 닥친 일과 크게 다를 바가 없다. 하지만 가장인 이민구 때문에 그녀들은 더 큰 피해를 입었다. 강화도를 제대로 지키지 못한 것, 그로 인해 많은 유력 가문의 구성원들이 죽임을 당하거나 포로로 붙들려 간 것에 대한 이민구의 책임도 문제였지만, 그가 아내의 추문을 정절의 이야기로 만들고자 했던 시도가 실패하면서 사태가 더 악화되었다. 포로가 된 해평 윤씨가 전쟁 포로의 일반적인 모습을 보여주지 않았다는 이유로 그녀는 병자호란으로 야기된 여러 추악한 일의 대표적인 사례로 알려졌고, 후대로 내려올수록 그녀의 위선이 더 강화되는 형태로 이야기가 만들어졌다. 이민구는 아내를 위한, 궁극적으로는 자신과 그 가문을 위해 시도했던 상징 조작이 실패로 끝나자, 이번에는 그녀들의 존재를 철저하게 지우는 방식으로 글을 썼다. 이민구는 아내와 며느리들이 매개된 인간 관계에서 그녀들의 아버지만 호명하였고, 둘 사이의 곡진한 우정과 오랜 우호를 강조하였다. 두 아들의 죽음을 슬퍼하고 그들의 뛰어난 재능을 애석해하면서도, 그들의 배우자들에 대해서는 제대로 이야기하지 않았다. 빼어난 문장 실력을 발휘하여 작성한 묘도문자와 팔십 평생 쓴 시에서 이민구는 그렇게 여성 가족들의 존재를 지웠고, 가렸다. 관료 이민구의 무능으로 조선이라는 물리적 공간에서 쫓겨나고, 남편 이민구의 그릇된 대처로 담론 공간에서 추방당했으며, 마침내 그에 의해 존재까지 부정당한 그녀들이야말로 병자호란 최대의 희생자였다.

When Lee Min-goo failed to fabricate symbols for his wife, and ultimately for himself and his family, this time he wrote in a way to thoroughly erase their existence. Lee Min-goo called only his father by his wife and daughter-in-law’s mediated human relationships, and emphasized the strong friendship and friendship with them. While he mourned his son’s death and lamented their outstanding talents, he did not speak properly of their spouses. He erased and covered the existence of female family members in his tombstone letters and poems he wrote over his 80 lifetimes, which he wrote with his outstanding writing skills. Expelled from the physical space of Joseon due to bureaucrat Lee Min-gu’s incompetence, expelled from the discourse space due to her husband Lee Min-gu’s wrong handling, and finally denied even being by him, they were the biggest victims of the Byeongjahoran.
