Direction and Tasks of Theological Education in the Era with Covid-19

많은 것을 세상에 드러낸 코로나 19 팬데믹은 완전히 사라지지 않았고, 2021년 11월 한국에서 위드 코로나 시대가 시작됐다. 무엇보다도 코로나 19 팬데믹은 공적 책임을 다하지 못한 기독교, 상식이 부족한 교회, 환경문제를 초래한 탐욕스런 사회, 물질만능주의 등 한국교회와 사회의 민낯을 낱낱이 드러냈다. 그런데 교회의 위기는 목회자와 깊이 관련이 있고, 그것은 다시 신학교육과 연결되어 있다. 신학교육을 행하는 신학교(대학)는 기독교 공동체의 투사이면서 동시에 공동체를 위한 것이기도 하다. 따라서 사회현실을 살피고 그 연관성 속에서 신학교육을 이해할 필요가 있다. 그러므로 본 논문은 위드 코로나 시대의 사회적 현실을 고찰해봄으로써 신학교육에 주는 도전과 과제를 모색해보는 것에 초점을 맞춘다. 먼저 본 논문은 현재 전개되고 있는 신학교육에 관한 일반적인 이해와 연구들을 살펴보고, 둘째, 현 시대적 상황에 비추어 볼 때 바람직한 신학교육의 방향은 무엇인지를 다루며, 마지막으로 신학교육의 과제는 무엇인지를 제안한다.

Covid-19 Pandemic is not completely ended, and the era with Covid-19 began in Korea as of November 2021. Above all, Covid-19 pandemic disclosed naked face of Korean society and church. The cases are Christianity which did not fulfill its public responsibility, Church lacking of common sense, greedy society which brought about the ecological crisis, materialism, and so on. Crisis of the church, however, is deeply related to ministers, which is relevant to theological education. Seminary (college) conducting theological education is a projection of Christian community and for the community at the same time. Thus, to understand theological education is needed in light of considering social reality and its relation to education. Therefore, this study aims at critically examining the social reality of the era with Covid-19. In doing so, the author tries to explore the direction and tasks of theological education. This article consists of three main parts. The first part is about general understanding and study on theological education done in the past. The second part deals with the direction of theological education in light of current situation. Lastly, the author suggests the tasks of theological education implied by the direction probed in the second part.
