This study analyzed latent classes according to the level of multidimensional citizenship of adolescents and identified factors affecting them. More specifically, focusing on criticism of existing homomorphic citizenship education based on the world culture perspective, the purpose of this study was to analyze factors of heterogeneously classified potential classes in the population to find ways for individualized citizenship education for teenagers. To this end, Latent Profile Analysis (LPA) was conducted using data from the 9th year of the Gyeonggi Education Panel Study (GEPS) (2020, third year of high school). Analysis results are as follows. First, multidimensional citizenship composed of personal citizenship, social citizenship, spatial citizenship, and temporal citizenship was classified into a high individual-high social citizenship group (upper group, 40.2%), a high sociallow spatial citizenship group (middle group, 49.7%), and a low individual-low spatial citizenship group (lower group, 10.1%). Second, the level of multidimensional citizenship of adolescents was classified into three classes. In common, spatial citizenship and temporal citizenship had very low levels. Third, in terms of individual factors, the value of student participation was positively significant in the upper group, whereas it was negatively significant in the lower group, indicating that the higher the recognition of the value aspect of student participation, the higher the probability of belonging to the upper group. Fourth, the higher the self-understanding of career paths, the more positively it worked on the formation of multidimensional citizenship of the upper group. Finally, it was found that the relationship with the community recognized by the teacher had a positive effect on the upper group and that how the teacher was recognized in the community with a relationship was a significant factor. Through these results, individualized and practical student participation-centered multidimensional citizenship education according to the multidimensional citizenship level of youth is required and awareness of multidimensional citizenship to understand others and the environment in a different time and place is necessary for global citizenship education. In addition, an interdisciplinary approach to citizenship education in connection with career education is needed. Moreover, teachers should establish an organic educational cooperative relationship with the local community.
