한국 가톨릭 교회는 초기부터 성직자 영입운동을 하였고, 이땅에 와서 피를 흘려 순교한 파리 외방전교회가 ‘방인사제양성’을 우선적 선교전략으로삼은 덕분으로 교세에 비해 많은 성직자들을 배출하게 되었다. 하지만 대부분이 교구사제이고, 수도원 소속 사제들의 비율이 적다. 이것은 한국의 특수한 상황이다. 이러한 상황에서 서울교구는 첫 수도자 출신 방인 교구장을 모시게 되었다. 새 교구장은 임기 초기에 주교좌 성당 ‘기도소임사제’ 제도를소개하고 지원자를 모집하였다. 그리고 그들에게 기대하는 역할은 “교회의역사에서 근세의 주교좌 성당에 ‘canonici regolaris’ 사제단이 있어 공동으로기도를 바쳐왔던 전통과 비슷하게 주교좌 성당에서 성무일도 기도를 공동으로 바치는 기도 전담 소임”이다. 이것은 12세기 유럽의 규율사제단 쇄신운동과 같이 오늘날 한국 천주교회의 교구사제단이 새로워질 수 있는 예언자적인 방향 제시이다. 본 소고는 이러한 상황인식을 바탕으로 중세의 가장 대표적인 규율사제단이었던 생 빅토르 규율사제단의 후고의 영성교육학적 기본틀을 연구해 보았다. 내적인 정신의 공유가 없을 때 새로운 외적인 제도의도입은 혼돈을 가져올 수 있다. 그래서 생 빅토르의 후고가 전하는 핵심적가치가 ‘기도소임사제’ 제도에 다소간 반영되기를 바라면서 본 연구를 진행하였다
The Korean Catholic Church had been inviting priests from the beginning, and the Paris Foreign Missions, which came to this land and shed blood and martyred, formated first Korean priests. Thanks to its priority of mission strategy on the indigenous priest formation, there are many priests in Korea now. However, most of them are parish priests, and the proportion of priests belonging to monasteries or societies is small. This is a special situation in Korea. Under these circumstances, Seoul Archidiocese was the first in Korea to have the first Carmel originated Bishop. At the beginning of his office, the new Archibishop introduced the ‘Priest in the Prayer Service’ system and recruited applicants. And the role they are expected to play is “a mission dedicated to praying Divine office together in the cathedral, similar to the tradition of communal prayer with the ‘canonici regolaris’ in the cathedral in the modern era in the history of the church.” This is a prophetic direction in which the parish priesthood of the Catholic Church in Korea today can be renewed, just like the 12th century European movement for the renewal of the Priesthood. Based on this situational awareness, in this article I studied the spiritual education framework of the Hugh of Saint Victor, the most representative of canonici regolaris in medieval Catholic church. The introduction of new external institutions can lead to chaos when there is no shared inner spirit. Therefore, this study was conducted with the hope that the basic framework and core values of Saint Victor Hugo’s spiritual education would be considered in the 'Priest in the Prayer Service' system to some extent.
