이 연구의 목적은 한국형 사회통합 교육프로그램을 위한 특수목적 한국어 교육의 방향을 점검하고, 타당한 교육 모형을 실현할 교재 개발의 지향점을 찾는 데 있다. 본고는 독일의 사회통합 교육을 위한 교재를 분석하여 그 의의와 시사점을 도출하고자 한다. 그리고 교재 분석의 결과를 한국의 사회통합 교육과정, 그리고 기 확인된 국외 사회통합 교재와 대비함으로써 한국형 사회통합 프로그램의 언어교육 범위와 한계를 논했다. 이를 위해 본고는 영주권과 국적을 취득하기 위한 이민자 대상 독일어 교재 「Schritte Plus」 총 6권을 대상으로 언어교육 내용을 분석하였다. 해당 교재에서 찾은 가장 주요한 특징은 성인 이민자에게 유용한 소재로 접근하는 방식이다. 또한, 교재 전반에 언어 소통상 맥락과 문화 상대주의가 강조되어 있었다. 그 밖에도 경제와 사회에 참여하는 성인 이민자를 위해 일상생활을 위한 구어와 사회적 활동을 위한 문어를 구별하는 등 언어 사용을 강조하고 언어문화가 통합된 교육 내용을 A1 단계에서부터 두루 다루는 특징이 확인되었다. 이민자 대상 교육은 특수목적 한국어 교육이므로, 사회통합 프로그램에서의 한국어 교재는 이민자의 사회 적응에 기여하는 자료이어야 한다. 이를 실현하기 위해 첫째, 교육 내용 선정 시 이민자의 언어 사용역이 우선적으로 고려되어야 한다. 둘째, 한국 사회 조기 적응을 목표로 한국어 교육의 1단계에서부터 문화, 사회, 경제 등 다양한 측면에서의 언어문화 통합교육이 필요하다.
This study aims to check the direction of special-purpose Korean language education for Korean social integration courses and to find the direction of textbook development and a valid educational model. This paper aims to derive its significance and implications by analyzing textbooks for social integration courses in Germany. 「Schritte Plus」 is an educational material used in this process, and the contents of language education for social integration were analyzed for these six volumes. It is confirmed that the context is emphasized in language communication, and cultural relativism is generally emphasized in the textbook. Additionally, it considered adult immigrants, such as distinguishing the spoken language for daily life and the written language for social activities from A1.1. Education for immigrants is Korean language education for special purposes. Therefore, Korean textbooks should contribute to increasing the social adaptation of immigrants. When selecting educational content in special-purpose Korean language education, the linguistic register should be considered before the language level. In addition, with the aim of early adaptation to Korean society, integration language courses in various aspects such as culture, society, and economy is needed from the first stage of Korean language education.
