This paper attempted to analyze the film What Do We See When We Look at the Sky?(2021) directed by Alexander Koveridze, focusing on the use of literary language and cinematic language as a whole. Specifically, director Alexander Koveridze devotes a large part of the film to the narration of the narrator, who is relatively unfavorable in auteur art films, but is faithful to the use of cinema languag, and achieves a rare and successful harmony of the use of the two languages. This work selects the theme of transformation unique to the fairytale, the change in appearance of the main character, and the scope of the narrator's intervention ranges from explanation of the situation to description of the character's psychological state. However, due to the silent cinematic shorts inserted between the narrator's narration, this film is more faithful to cinematic aesthetics than any other film. Also, the melodramatic nature of this work is also an element that induces the audience to enjoy this work smoothly. This is because the classic theme of love between two lovers who overcome obstacles is loved by the audience regardless of the era. It was also found that the world where the main characters, Giorgi and Liza, live, is being reborn as a realistic yet mysterious space through personification. In this work, anthropomorphism is achieved by giving facial expressions and emotions to parts of the body along with the traditional personification of animals. In terms of cinema history, it is also worth pointing out that director Alexander Koveridze's work shows the potential of Georgian cinema. Director Alexander Koveridze creatively inherits the tradition of Soviet Georgian cinema, such as lyricism and humor, detailed depiction of everyday life and various nuances of objects, in the film What Do We See When We Look at the Sky?.
