To secure remote monitoring technology essential for dismantling nuclear power plants, this study measures the vi- bration signal of a base material using an accelerometer during the plasma arc cutting process, with the current and cutting speed used as variables. Following cutting, root mean square values and a spectrogram are obtained and power spectral density analysis is conducted on the time-series acceleration data. A longitudinal cross-sectional comparison of the base material is also performed. The success or failure of cutting is determined by the vibrational characteristics derived from the cutting process.
