화석화된 신학을 거부하고 예수 생명을 강조하며 장종현 박사가 주창한 개혁주의생명신학의 근간은 종교개혁 5대 표어(오직성경, 오직 그리스도, 오직 믿음, 오직 은혜, 오직 하나님께 영광) 와 7대 실천운동(신앙운동, 신학회복운동, 회개용서운동, 영적생명운동, 하나님나라운동, 나눔운동, 기도성령운동)이다. 특히 7대실천운동의 맨 선두에 ‘신앙운동’이 위치하고 있다는 점이 눈길을 끈다. 이 운동은 종교개혁 5대 표어 가운데 두 개의 항목에긴밀히 연결되어 있다. 즉 먼저는 신앙운동이라 했으니 ‘오직 믿음’(Sola Fide)의 영역에 맞닿아 있고, 또한 이러한 신앙운동을“성경이 우리의 신앙과 삶의 유일한 표준임을 믿고, 개혁주의신학을 계승하려는” 운동이라고 정의하고 있다는 점에서 ‘오직 성경’(Sola Scriptura)의 구호에도 연결되어 있다. 그와 같은 점에서 볼 때, 개혁주의생명신학의 7대 실천운동 가운데 가장 앞에 나와있는 신앙운동은 나머지 6개의 실천운동을 이끌고 가는 기관차역할을 한다고 볼 수 있다. 논문의 전반부에서는 개혁주의생명신학의 근간을 이루고 있는 ‘오직 믿음’에 대한 최근까지의 논의들을 개괄한 뒤, 믿음과 행위의 불가분의 관계 및 칭의와 성화의관계 등에 대해서 살펴보았다. 한편, 글의 후반부에서는 교회 현장에서 성경을 말씀 그대로의 본뜻대로 전해야 할 책임이 있는설교자들이 ‘오직 믿음’과 ‘이신칭의’에 입각한 바른 강해설교를능력 있게 선포하는 데 도움이 될 만한 실용적 제언을 하였다.
When Dr. Jong Hyun Chang, the founder of Baekseok University, has advocated Reformed Life Theology(RLT), he has never meant to make a new theological system. Rather, it was an endeavor to rejuvenate and restore the essence of Reformed Theology by emphasizing the abundant life of Jesus and by rejecting speculative theology. For this very reason, RLT has been firmly rooted in reformers’ five core beliefs: sola scriptura, solus Christus, sola fide, sola gratia, soli deo gloria. As an effort to realize the vitality of these five principles, RLT has been campaigning seven movements: a movement of faith, a movement of theological restoration, a movement of repentance and forgiveness, a movement of spiritual life, a movement of the kingdom of God, a movement of sharing, and a movement of prayer and the Holy Spirit. One could notice that a movement of faith is located in the first place among the seven movements. This movement is closely related to the two solae: firstly to sola fide, from the name of which one can easily find the relationship between the two; secondly to sola scriptura, in the sense that reformed theology has believed that the Bible is the only standard for faith. Viewed from this perspective, a movement of faith, firstly mentioned among RLT’s seven movements, could be considered as an engine that drives the entire movements. After the researcher surveyed recent academic discussions regarding the issue of ‘sola fide’ in the opening part of the article, he continued to stretch the extent of the discussion further into the indivisible relationship between justification and sanctification. The closing part of the article included practical suggestions concerning how one can compose and deliver spiritually powerful and at the same time biblically sound expository sermons in terms of sola fide.
