본 연구에서는 수학에 대한 과제비용과 지속성, 진로선택에 있어 성별에 따른 평균 차이와 변인 간 관계의 차이를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경북 중소도시에 소재한 중학교의 3학년생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고, 잠재평균분석과 다중집단분석을 수행하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 잠재평균분석 결과 노력비용과 기회비용은 남학생에 비해 여학생이 더 높은 수준으로 인식하는 것으로 나타났으며, 정서비용은 성별에 따른 차이가 유의하지 않았다. 둘째, 수학에 대한 지속성과 진로선택은 여학생에 비해 남학생이 더 높은 수준으로 나타났다. 셋째, 다중집단분석 결과 여학생들은 노력비용을 높게 인식할수록 수학과 관련된 진로를 선택하지 않는 것으로 나타났으며, 정서비용을 높게 인식할수록 진로를 선택하지 않는 결과는 남학생에게서 더욱 크게 나타났다.
The purpose of this study was to examine the gender differences in the average and relational differences in cost, persistence, and career choices related to mathematics. We conducted a questionnaire on middle school students, and performed latent mean analysis and multi-group analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, as a result of the latent average analysis, girls perceived effort cost and opportunity cost at a higher level than male group, and emotional cost was not significantly different by gender. Second, male group reported higher levels of persistence and career choice related to than female group. Third, as a result of multi-group analysis, it was found only in female group that effort cost negatively predicts career choices related to mathematics. Finally, the result that emotional cost negatively predicted career choice was larger in the male group.
