The purpose of this article is to re-read Kim Yu-jeong's novels through the recognition of nature and time repeatedly revealed in Kim's essays, and to understand the aspects and meanings of his thoughts embodied in the novels. In Kim Yu-jeong's essay, the author's oriental thoughts about Life are repeatedly revealed. And this is embodied in various ways in the novel. In the novels “Toad” and “Manmubang”, you can see the repetitive and changing oriental view of time through characters who want time to pass. In the novels “Manmubang”, “Autumn”, and “The Scorching Heat”, the characters continue to empty themselves despite their extreme poverty. This is rather the attitude of the ‘GungJeuktong’ to seek change by moving toward the extreme state. The characters in Kim Yu-jeong's novel show as much respect for other people's ‘Life’ as they do for my ‘Life’. Through this, it can be confirmed that ‘Life’ has an important meaning on the basis of Kim Yu-jeong's novels. These thoughts and fictional figuration extend to the concept of ‘Love’ pursued by Kim Yu-jeong, that is, the role of literature. And through this, it can be confirmed that Kim Yu-jeong was also practicing ‘Love as a Life’ through her writing.
