본 연구의 목적은 COVID-19 팬데믹 상황에서 온라인 수업을 대상으로 교수자의 커뮤니케이션 스타일과 교수자와 학습자 간의 라포 및 대학생활만족 간의 영향관계에 대해 검증하는 것이다. 연구 수행을 위해 편의표본추출방법을 사용하여 2개월간 서울에 위치한 2년제 대학의 학생들에게 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였다. 변수들 간의 영향 관계를 검증하기 위해 두 개의 가설을 설정하였으며, 가설 검증을 위해 AMOS을 활용한 구조방정식모형분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 신뢰협력형 커뮤니케이션 스타일은 라포에 유의미한 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 라포는 대학생활만족도에 유의미한 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 제시되었다. 추가적으로 교수자의 커뮤니케이션 스타일과 라포에 있어서 성별과 학년에 따른 차이는 제시되지 않았다. 결과적으로 교수자와 학습자 간의 라포를 형성하기 위해서, 교수자는 온라인 수업을 운영할 때 학생들의 의견에 주의를 기울이고 신뢰를 심어줄 수 있는 커뮤니케이션 방법들을 활용하는데 초점을 맞추어야 하며, 이러한 과정은 COVID-19 팬데믹 상황 하에서 학생들의 대학 생활에 대한 만족도를 증가시킬 수 있다. 그러므로 교수자들은 온라인 수업에서 학생들에게 신뢰와 협조를 표현할 수 있는 효과적인 방법을 강구할 필요가 있으며, 학교 차원에서는 라포 수준을 향상시키기 위해 교수자들의 커뮤니케이션 스킬을 개발할 수 있는 실질적인 지원과 프로그램을 제공할 필요가 있다.
The purpose of this study is to examine the causal effect of professors’ communication styles on rapport between professors and students, which impacted college life satisfaction in online classes during the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to conduct the research, an online survey was performed for two months to college students in Seoul by using the convenience sampling method. Two hypotheses were proposed to identify the relationships among three variables, and then structural equation modeling analysis using AMOS was used to examine them. The findings are as follows. First, trust and cooperation communication style positively impacted rapport. Second, rapport positively influenced college life satisfaction. Additionally, there was no difference in communication style and rapport according to gender and grade. As a result, in order to build rapport between professors and students, professors should focus on improving communication methods to pay attention to students' opinions and build trust when operating online classes, which could lead to increased student satisfaction during an epidemic. Therefore, professors need to find effective ways to express their trust in online classes, and colleges should provide practical support and programs to promote communication skills for a better level of rapport.
