The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of parents' involvement in education of multicultural families on their children's school adaptation. For the study, structural equation modeling analysis using the Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study data from the Korea Youth Policy Institute was utilized. The results are as follows. First, family-based and school-based parents' involvement in education during the third year of middle school had a static effect on their children's academic ability and their children's relationship with teachers and peers during the first year of high school respectively. Second, they had a static effect on their children's motivation for achievement and their sense of self-respect each in the same grade. Third, both the self-esteem and the motivation for achievement have been shown to enhance school adaptation such as academic ability, relationships with teachers and peers. Finally, the mediating effects of adolescents’ self-esteem and motivation for achievement were identified in the relationship between parent’s educational involvement and their child’s school adaptation. Based on these findings, the study was discussed in ways to support parents' education and schools for the multicultural parents' and their adolescents' adaptation to school.
