In this paper, I examine the ending patterns of how men and women establish relationships in “The Woodcutter Who Became a Cock type” in “The Fairy and the Woodcutter” and “Bird Transformation-type” in “Snail Maiden Tale.” In the Fairy and the Woodcutter, the fairy objectified as “Ich-Es, I-It” did not have intersubjective relationships with the woodcutter, which eventually caused the fairy to leave the woodcutter. The fairy and the woodcutter focused on the uterine family rather than the marriage family. In contrast, the snail maiden and her husband had intersubjective relationships, “Ich-Du, I-You.” The snail maiden transformed into a bird to be the same as her husband, which was a transformation of “the will to love” of the snail maiden through the “conscience incarnée.” The contrast between the two stories demonstrates that the one-sided relationship causes separation and solitude, and intersubjective relationships are prerequisites for accompanying.
