최근 팬데믹을 비롯한 각종 재난․재해 사고는 안전과 관련된 다양한 사회적 이슈를 반영한 학교안전교육을 요청한다. 학교안전교육은 창의적 체험활동과 같은 비교과 활동을 통해서도 이루어질 수 있지만, 단일 교과 또는 교과 통합등을 통해서 보다 효과적으로 이루어질 수 있다. 특히, 다양한 교과 중 기술․가정은 실천적 특성을 갖는 교과로 안전교육과내용상 밀접한 관련성이 있어 학교안전교육을 유의미하게 구현할 수 있는 교과이다. 이에 이 연구에서는 현행 중·고등학교기술·가정 교과서에 편성된 안전교육의 내용을 분석하여 교과와 안전교육의 효율적인 연계 및 개선 방안 등을 탐색하고자하였다. 이를 위해 구체적으로 학교안전교육 7대 표준안(7개 대영역, 25개 중영역, 52개 소영역)을 분석틀로 삼아중·고등학교 기술·가정 교과서(총 15종)의 내용을 분석하였으며, 현행 교과 교육과정에 반영된 안전교육의 편성 현황을살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 현행 중·고등학교 기술·가정 5종 교과서는 학교안전교육 7대 표준안의 전 영역을 분산적으로다루면서도 교과 특성을 고려하여 ‘재난 안전’, ‘폭력 예방 및 신변보호’, ‘약물 및 사이버 중독 예방’, ‘직업 안전’ 부분에 중점을 두어 다루고 있었다. 그리고 학교급 간 안전교육의 영역별 중복된 내용이 있더라도 교과 지식과 특성, 청소년들의 실생활에 따라 차이를 두어 내용이 구성되어 있었다. 그러나 대개 안전 수칙의 습득과 습관화를 목표로하는 활동 과제가 많은 한계를 보였으며, 고등학교로 갈수록 교과서 간 위험교육을 실천할 수 있는 활동 과제에서많은 차이를 보였다. 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로 이 연구에서는 중․고등학교 기술․가정 교과를 통한 안전교육의 개선방안을 제시하고, 안전교육 관점에서 2022 개정 교육과정에 주는 시사점을 도출하였다
The purpose of this study is to analyze the contents of school safety education applied in the current middle and high school Technology·Home Economics textbooks. By taking the 7 school safety education standards as an analysis frame, total 15 types of middle and high school Technology·Home Economics textbooks have been examined in this study. Findings suggest how safety education is reflected in the related subject curriculum in secondary education, and furthermore, the linkage from the perspective of safety education between two school levels was discussed. They also provide ways to improve safety education through Technology·Home Economics curriculum, and draws implications for the 2022 Revised Curriculum. Considering the need to develop national curriculum that reflects social issues related to safety, such as coping with the uncertainty of the future triggered by the pandemic, it is important to examine the current status of safety education in secondary curriculum and seek improvements for upcoming national curriculum development.
