(Purpose): The purpose of this study is to research the main factors affecting the strengthening of the willingness to report in those responsible to do so in regards to elder abuse, contributing to the prevention of elder abuse, and to secure basic policy and practical data to realize the value of elders’ human rights. (Design/methodology/approach): In order to achieve the purpose of this study, a survey was conducted on about 400 persons responsible for reporting elder abuse who work at social welfare-related institutions in Gyeonggi Province. The survey was conducted for nearly a four-month period from September 01 to December 31, 2021, and a total of 318 departments were used in the analysis. Reliability verification, descriptive statistics, and correlation analysis were conducted using the retrieved data. Using AMOS 25.0 to test the research hypothesis, and by presenting a path-coefficient through the structural equation, this study investigated the influence of the perception of elder abuse in the relationship of the independent variable (satisfaction of prevention education) on the dependent variable (willingness to report elder abuse). (Findings): As a result of the analysis, it was shown that the reliability of all variables was relatively high, and it was verified that all variables met the criteria in the validity evaluation, too. In addition, as a result of conducting correlation analysis of related variables, all variables showed significant correlation. Finally, after analyzing through the structural equation model to see whether the perception of elder abuse has a mediation effect on the influence satisfaction of prevention education has on the willingness to report elder abuse, it was revealed that the perception of elder abuse has a full mediation effect. (Research implications or Originality): As a result of this study, it was found that if satisfaction of education for preventing elder abuse is high, the awareness of elder abuse is high, and if the awareness of elder abuse is high, the willingness to report elder abuse also increases. Therefore, in order to improve the willingness to report elder abuse in those responsible to do so, it was suggested that practical efforts should be made to increase awareness of elder abuse.
