본 연구는 현대시 교육에서 생태시의 교육적 활용과 방향을 모색하는 것을 목표로 한다. 환경 파괴로 인한 생태문제에 대응하기 위한 내용은 교육 현장에도 적극적으로 반영될 예정이다. 생태문제의 심각성은 우리의 삶에 실제적인 위협으로 다가오고 있으며 이에 대한 대응 요구도 높아지고 있기 때문이다. 그동안 문학교육에서도 생태 및 환경과 관련한 문제를 교과서 제재 수록과 활동 구성을 통해 다루어왔다. 그러나 생태계 파괴로 인해 고통받는 생태계 구성 요소들을 관찰의 대상으로 제시하고 학습자의 일상에 생태문제를 적극적으로 연계시키지 못하는 양상을 보였다. 본 연구는 동정과 연민의 대상이자 환경 오염의 실상을 고발하기 위한 수단으로서가 아닌, 자신들의 상황에 목소리를 낼 수 있는 위치에 자연과 환경을 놓고자 하였다. 이를 통해 생태문제의 개선을 위한 실천을 촉구하는 타자와의 만남으로 생태시를 수용하는 방안을 제안하였다. 학습자들은 시에서 발화되는 자연과 환경의 목소리를 통해 나와 분리된 타자로서 그를 발견하고 그의 고통을 나의 문제로 인식할 수 있다. 문명비판이나 자연과의 공존에 대한 메시지를 전달하는 매개적 위치가 아닌 자신들의 상황을 호소하는 당사자로서 생태계의 구성원들을 접함으로써 학습자들은 생태문제의 해결을 위한 자질과 태도를 함양할 수 있다.
This study explores ecological poetry's educational application and direction in modern poetry education. The contents to respond to ecological problems caused by environmental destruction will be actively reflected in the educational field. This is because the seriousness of ecological problems is approaching as a real threat to our lives, and the demands for countermeasures are also increasing. In literary education, issues related to ecology and the environment have been dealt with through textbooks. However, ecosystem componnents suffering from ecosystem destruction were presented as objects of observation and failed to link ecological problems to learners' daily lives actively. This study tried to put nature in the position of the subject who utter their situation, not as an object of sympathy and compassion and as a means to accuse the reality of environmental pollution. In conclusions, it was proposed to accept ecological poetry as a meeting with others who urge action to improve ecological problems. Through the voices of the ecosystem's components uttered in poetry, learners can discover the ecosystem's components as others who are separated from themselves and recognize ecological problems as their problems. Learners can cultivate the attitudes for solving ecological problems by coming into contact with the ecosystem's components as a subject that appeals to their situation, not as a mediator that conveys a message about criticism of civilization or coexistence with nature.
