『萬里初程(만니초졍)』은 고흥류씨(1904.4.15.-1933.2.3.)의 친필로 편찬된 단권의 책이다. 고흥류씨는 강원도 춘천 남면에서 출생하여, 서간도 石墻溝에 묻혔다. 고흥류씨는 10세 때인 1913년 고흥류씨 일가족의 망명길을 따라 서간도로 갔다. 고흥류씨는 1917년 윤2월 25일 14세 때에 망명지 서간도 出類頭에서 克齋 魚允績의 손자 魚永德과 결혼하였고, 30세의 나이로 요절하였다. 『萬里初程(만니초졍)』의 구성은 <訓學雜記휸학잡긔>, <녀손훈ᄉᆞ>, <손녀훈ᄉᆞ>, 한글편지 17건 등으로 이루어져 있다. <訓學雜記휸학잡긔>는 고흥류씨가 유가 집안의 일상생활에서 기본적으로 알아야 할 상식을 정리한 것이다. <녀손훈ᄉᆞ>와 <손녀훈ᄉᆞ>는 족조 류중교와, 친할아버지 류중홍의 작품을 베껴 놓은 것이다. <녀손훈ᄉᆞ>는 고흥류씨 집안의 후손 여성, <손녀훈ᄉᆞ>는 고흥류씨를 위한 계녀 성격의 가사작품이다. 이 논문은 『萬里初程(만니초졍)』 수록 한글편지 17건 중, 고흥류씨의 시할아버지 어윤적이 서간도 망명시기에 고국에 남아있는 친족들 가운데 여성들과 발・수신한 편지 5건, 고흥류씨 친정아버지 류주석이 딸 고흥류씨에게 발신한 편지 5건, 그리고 어윤적과 류주석이 발신한 편지 속에 드러나 있는 고흥류씨와 어영덕 부부에 관련한 내용을 연구한 것이다. 이 논문을 통하여 고흥류씨에 의해 편찬된 새로운 자료 『萬里初程(만니초졍)』의 체계와 내용, 수록 한글편지에 투영된 근대격동기 함종어씨 어윤적 가문의 서간도 망명생활의 한 모습이 밝혀지리라 생각된다.
Mannichojyeong is a single book published in the handwriting of woman Ryu of Goheung(April 15, 1904 - February 3, 1933). She was born in Nam-myeon, Chuncheon, Gangwon Province and buried in Seokjanggu, Seogando. In 1913, her family moved to Seogando for asylum when she was ten years old. She married Eo Yeong-deok, a grandson of Geukjae Eo Yun-jeok, in Chulryudu, Seogando, on February 25, 1917 during a leap month at the age of 14. She died young at the age of 30. Mannichojyeong is comprised of Hyunhakjapgui, Nyeosonhunsa, Sonnyeohunsa, and 17 letters written in Hangul. In Hyunhakjapgui, she arranged the basic common sense she had to have for the daily life of the Confucian family of her husband. Nyeosonhunsa and Sonnyeohunsa contain her handwritten copies of works by Jokjo Ryu Jung-gyo and her grandfather Ryu Jung-hong. They are Gasa works of the Gyenyeo nature for the female descendents, especially those of Ryu family of Goheung. Of the 17 letters written in Hangul in Mannichojyeong, this paper investigated five letters that Eo Yun-jeok, her husband's grandfather, exchanged with his female relatives back in Joseon during his asylum in Seogando five letters that her father Ryu Ju-seok sent to her, and her couple found in the letters sent by Eo Yun-jeok and Ryu Ju-seok. The study would shed light on the aspects of the asylum life of Eo Yun-jeok from the Hanjong Eo clan in Seogando during the turbulent modern times based on the system, content, and Hangul letters of Mannichojyeong, a new material published by woman Ryu of Goheung.
