The previous government's labor policy was to respect labor, but it could be regarded as a policy to respect the employed. And although the implementation of the labor policy was drastic, it lacked careful discussion of experts and referring to public opinion through social dialogue. The new government can be considered to have a pragmatic labor policy that prepares supplementary measures for the previous government's rapid implementation of the labor policy. The new government drives a flexible working hour system that complements the abruptly implemented policy to reduce actual working hours, but workers' right to choose and to be healthy should also be considered. Also, one of the new government’s tasks is to have the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, which was quickly dealt with, supplemented to clarify the responsibilities of the manager and its contents. The new government should discover and utilize practical legal means necessary for the reform of the seniority wage system. Considering the extension of the retirement age to 65 in the future, the reform of the seniority wage system neglected by previous governments cannot be delayed any longer. While the new government's labor policy is a pragmatic policy, it should be used as an active opportunity to shape a new version of our labor market.
