A Poetic Exploration of the Place of Glocalism and Hospitality - Focusing on Shin Dongyeop’s poem -

시 문학 연구는 자본주의의 세계화 전략에 포섭되지 않는 ‘글로컬리즘’의 시학을 선취하고 구축해나갈 필요가 있다. 이 논문은 ‘글로컬리즘’이라는 개념을 검토하고, 그 방법론을 적용한 하나의 실천적 사례로 신동엽의 시를 해석하였다. 신동엽은 중앙권력 중심주의를 벗어나기 위한 모색을 해나간 시인이자 ‘국가’나 ‘민족’ 으로 귀결되지 않는 지역과 장소에 대한 사유를 보여준 시인이기에 글로컬리즘적 관점으로 접근하기에 적합하다. 한편 이 논문은 글로컬리즘의 시학적 방법을 모색하는 과정에서 ‘환대’의 시학이 함께 적용되어야 함을 강조하였는데 그러한 모습 역시 신동엽의 시에서발견할 수 있다. 신동엽의 시는 지역 자체의 능동적 힘과 아름다움을 강조하는데 이때 신동엽 시에 나타나는 지역성의 힘이 단순히 ‘서울’과의 비교나 대항 의식에서 기인하지 않는다는 점에이 논문은 주목하였다. 신동엽의 시는 각각의 지역이 모두 ‘삶의 터전’으로서 그 공간성을회복해야 함을 궁극적으로 지향한다. 글로컬적 공간은 중앙권력의 획일성에 포섭되지 않는 차이의 공간이면서도 또한 주변과 주변의 경계를 구축하지 않는 환대의 공간이어야 한다. 신동엽의 시는 서울과 지역 간의 위계에 저항하는 동시에 또한 지역과 지역의 경계도 허물며 연결하고자 한다. 신동엽의시는 지역성을 강조하면서도 그 안에서 우정과 연대, 환대의 자리를 발견한다. 중심과 주변의 경계를 해체할 뿐만 아니라 주변과 주변의 경계도 무너뜨리는 것에서 신동엽 시 글로컬적 공간의 가치를 높이 평가할 수 있다.

Poetic literature research needs to preempt and build the poetry of ‘glocalism’ that is not included in the globalization strategy of capitalism. This paper reviewed the concept of ‘glocalism’ and interpreted Shin Dongyeop’s poem as a practical example applying the methodology. Shin Dongyeop is suitable for a glocal perspective because he is a poet who sought to escape from central power-centeredism and showed thoughts for areas and places that do not result in a ‘state’ or ‘ethnicity’. On the other hand, this paper emphasized that the poetry of ‘hospitality’ should be applied together in the process of exploring the poetic method of glocalism, and that can also be found in Shin Dongyeop’s poem. Shin Dongyeop’s poem emphasizes the active power and beauty of the region itself, and this paper noted that the power of locality that appears in Shin Dongyeop’s poem is not simply due to the comparison with ‘Seoul’ or the sense of opposition. Shin Dongyeop’s poem ultimately aims to restore the spatiality of each region as the ‘place of life’. The glocal space should be a space of difference that is not included in the uniformity of central power, but also a space of hospitality that does not establish boundaries between the periphery and the periphery. Shin Dongyeop’s poem is trying to resist the hierarchy between Seoul and the region, while also breaking down the boundaries between regions and regions. While emphasizing locality, Shin Dongyeop’s poem finds a place of friendship, solidarity, and hospitality in it. In addition to dismantling the boundary between the center and the surrounding area, the value of the glocal space can be highly appreciated in Shin Dongyeop’s breaking down the boundary between the surrounding and the surrounding area.
