The concept of citizen science is conducting scientific research with the assistance and cooperation of scientists and institutions by members of the public who are not experts. “Earth Loving Explorers” is a citizen science project by Donga Science Company through which the general public participates in ecological education and environment of scientists and records ecological data in residential areas. In this study, we used the NEP scale measurement method to examine whether citizen scientists who participate in citizen science activities perceive ecosystems differently than those who do not. NEP mean values were higher on all questions except one for those who completed the “Earth Loving Explorers Team” project compared to those who did not a relationship between citizen science activities and the revised NEP scale has also been found to be significant. The findings of this study suggest that citizen scientists have a comprehensive understanding of ecosystems and ecological background, including ecological sensitivity. It is noteworthy that this study analyzes the educational effects of citizen science activities for all citizens, regardless of age. Further generalization can be achieved by conducting additional research with a larger general population and so on.
