본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 성별에 따른 가족경험 변인과 결혼동기 및 결혼가치관의 관계와 영향력을 분석하고 남녀 대학생의 결혼동기 및 결혼가치관에 관한 성별의 조절효과에 관한 자료를 제공하는데 있다. 본 연구의 목적을 위한 연구 참여자는 남자 대학생 154명, 여자 대학생 166명이고, 자기보고식 설문 방식으로 자료를 수집하였다. 본 연구의 연구결과 첫째, 차이 검증에서 결혼 동기와 결혼가치관은 성별에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 남녀 대학생의 결혼동기 및 결혼가치관은 가족 경험 변인과 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 결혼동기와 보수-도구적 결혼가치관 및 소극-배타적 결혼가치관에 성별은 조절효과를 나타냈다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 남녀 대학생의 차이를 고려한 결혼관 정립을 위한 사회 정책적 프로그램 및 실천 방안을 제시하였다.
Objectives: This study investigated the effects of the relationship of family experience variables on, marriage motive and marital values, and the gender differences of these effects, among college students, along with the moderating effect of gender in the relationship of marriage motive and marital values among college students. Methods: The participants of this study were 154 male and 166 female college students. Data were collected through a self-report questionnaire. Results: First, the study found significant differences in the recognition of motivation for marriage and marital values across genders. Second, marriage motives and marital values of male and female college students were found to be correlated with family experience variables. Third, gender had a moderating effect on motivation for marriage, conservative-instrumental marriage values, and passive-exclusive marriage values. Conclusions: Based on the results of this study, recommendations for counseling programs, family education, and future research are presented.
