Camping in China is a new form of tourism. Demand in the camping market has been growing rapidly, especially with various changes in people's leisure and daily life after the outbreak of COVID-19. The purpose of this study was to use a goal-directed behavior model to increase motivational factors for participating in camping to analyze the behavioral intentions of Chinese campers. Through the questionnaire survey, 258 copies were used as the data of this paper for structural equation model analysis. The study showed that all variables of model suitability met all criteria, and six of the nine hypotheses from this study were statistically significant. Attitude and positive and negative anticipated emotion have a significant influence on desire. Although the motivation of Chinese campers and perceived behavioral control to participate in camping did not have any influence on desire, it has a significant influence on behavior intention. Moreover, the desire for camping activities has a significant influence on the behavior intention.
