본 연구는 특수 목적고와 일반고(고교학점제 연구학교)에서 전문교과I의 과목을 어떻게 개설․운영하고 있는지 현황을 분석함으로써, 해당 과목이 내실 있게 개설·운영될 수 있도록 지원 방안을 모색하고자 하는 목적 하에 수행되었다. 이러한 목적을 위해 본 연구에서는 특수 목적고의 전문교과 I 개설과목에 대한 나이스(NEIS) 데이터를 분석하였으며, 고교학점제 연구학교의 현황은 설문 조사를 실시하여 그 결과를 수합해 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 특수 목적고는 학교 설립의 목적에 따른 전문교과Ⅰ 과목을 주로 개설하고 있었으나, 고교학점제 연구학교(일반고)에서는 모든 계열의 전문교과Ⅰ 과목을상당수 개설하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 일부 전문교과I 과목의 경우 일반고뿐만 아니라 해당 계열의 특수 목적고에서도 개설되지 않은 과목들이 존재하고 있었으며, 고교학점제 연구학교(일반고)에서는 학교 간 공동교육과정으로 전문교과I 과목을 개설․운영하는 사례가 확인되었다. 현재 개정 작업이 추진되고 있는 2022 개정 교육과정에서는 고교학점제 도입 및 고교 체제 개편 정책에 따라 기존의특수 목적고 대상 과목인 전문교과I 과목을 일반고 대상의 보통 교과로 이동․편입하는 변화를 시도하게 된다. 본 연구는 연구 결과에 근거하여 앞으로 전문교과I 과목이 보통교과로 통합될 경우 해당 과목의 개설 및 운영을 위한 지원 방안에 대해 논의하였다.
In accordance with the high school credit system introduction and high school system reform policy, the current curriculum is being revised. In the 2022 revised curriculum, specialized subject I, which was previously subject to special purpose high schools, will be transferred to and incorporated into general subjects for ordinary high schools. The purpose of this study is to explore operational support plan of specialized subject I. For this purpose, this study collected and analyzed NEIS data for specialized high school subject I, while conducting a written survey on the opening and operation of specialized subject I for ordinary high school (high school credit research school). As a result of the analysis, special purpose high schools mainly opened and operated specialized subject I related to the purpose of school establishment. In the case of ordinary high schools, subjects of specialized subject I in all fields were actively opened, and among them, many subjects were found to be science and art. Both special purpose high schools and ordinary high schools preferred to open subject I as an in-school curriculum, but it was confirmed that a number of general high schools opened and operated subject I as a joint curriculum between schools.
