최근 학위과정 유학생이 양적으로 증가하고 있으나 그들의 한국어 능 력은 학업을 원만하게 수행하기에는 부족한 수준이다. 학위과정 유학생 의 한국어 능력 부족은 학업 부진 및 학업 중단의 원인이 되고 있어 이를 개선하기 위한 교재 개발들이 시급한 상황이다. 대학에서의 읽기는 요약하기, 보고서 쓰기, 강의 수강하기 등의 학업 활동을가능하게하는한편지식습득의방편으로도쓰인다. 이중대학 에서읽기의고유한역할은지식습득에있다고말할수있다. 그런데교 재를 포함하여 지식을 전달하는 학술적인 글은 한국어 능력이 부족한 유 학생이 읽기 어려운 것이다. 그러므로 학위과정 유학생을 위한 읽기 교재는 대학의 교재로서 지식 습득을 훈련할 수 있게 설계되어야 할 필요가 있다. 이에 본고에서는 지식 기반의 읽기 교재가 필요함을 강조하고, 지식 체계와 함께 요목을 상세히 다루었다. 구체적으로 유학생용 읽기 교재에서 다룰 수 있는 지식으로 개념적 지식, 사실적 지식, 절차적 지식, 메타인지 적지식과언어지식, 텍스트지식, 읽기기술에대한지식, 내용지식에 대해 서술하였다.
Academic slumps and suspensions are occurring due to the deficiency in the competence of Korean along with the quantitative increase of international students in the degree course. Several colleges are operating intensive Korean courses to resolve this problem, but a systematic educational plan is necessary for the increase in the competence of Korean of the international students. The reading materials for Academic Purposes is skill of studying and a way of acquiring knowledge in academic field. so this reading material needs to be composed founded on “knowledge.” Ultimately, it must be composed to increase the academic literacy. that is the material of the knowledge-based This study suggests a knowledge-based korean reading material to develop the ability of korean reading. and then this study includes the content and the type of knowledge. Specifically, the content of knowledge was divided into korean language knowledge, text knowledge, reading skills, and background knowledge. finally, this study expand upon a syllabus of knowledge-based korean reading material.
