본 연구에서는 ‘코로나 일상 시대’에 영유아의 미래를 책임지고 있는 가장 일선의 어린이집 원장들이 어떠한 역할을 중점적으로 수행했는지를 살펴보고, 어린이집 원장들에게 코로나19 상황이 어떤 의미로 다가왔는지를 들여다보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 10명(국공립 2명, 직장3명, 민간 5명)의 어린이집 원장들과 개별 심층면담 및 집단면담, 저널 작성을 수행하였다. 연구 결과 어린이집 원장들은 코로나19 상황에서 1) 방역의 최일선에 서기, 2) 새로운 소통의통로 만들기, 3) 공동체 구성원들의 마음 아우르기 역할을 중점적으로 수행하였고, 코로나 상황을 1) 학부모와의 소통과 신뢰 형성에 대한 중요성을 재인식한 계기, 2) 자연, 놀이, 일상과교육의 본질적 가치를 음미한 시간, 3) 생존과 도약을 위한 새로운 시도와 도전의 장, 4) 연대적 위기 극복과 실질적 지원 방안 모색이 갈급한 시기로 그 의미를 부여하고 있었다. 본 연구 결과는 코로나 일상 시대에 국가 경제의 축을 지키는 근로자의 가정 지원과 영유아를 책임지고 돌보며 분투하는 어린이집 원장들의 경험을 면밀히 살펴봄으로써 앞으로의 실제적인대응 및 지원방안을 모색하는데 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
In this study, we tried to examine the central role played by the most front-line daycare center directors who are responsible for the future of infants and toddlers in the ‘corona daily era’, and to look into the meaning of the COVID-19 situation for daycare center directors. To this end, individual in-depth interviews, group interviews, and journal writing were conducted with 10 daycare center directors (2 public, 3 working, and 5 private). As a result of the study, daycare center directors focused on the roles of 1) being at the forefront of quarantine, 2) creating a new channel of communication, 3) encourage the hearts of community members in the Corona 19 situation, and they took the corona situation as a chance to 1) re-recognize the importance of communication and trust-building with parents, 2) nature, play It was given its meaning as a time when we were desperate for a time to appreciate the value of everyday life and essence, 3) a place for new attempts and challenges for survival and leap forward, and 4) to overcome a solidarity crisis and seek practical support. The results of this study can be used as basic data to find practical responses and support measures in the future by closely examining the experiences of daycare center managers who struggle with taking care of infants and toddlers and supporting the families of workers who protect the axis of the national economy in the daily era of Corona.
