본 연구의 목적은 제주 지역과 관련된 교육 분야의 연구 동향을 탐색하고 앞으로의 제주 교육 연구의 방향에 대하여 모색하는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 지금까지 제주지역의 교육을 다루었거나 제주를 배경으로 이루어진 연구들 중 학술등재(후보)지에발표된 175편의 교육 분야 학술 논문들을 수집하였다. 이어서 이렇게 수집된 학술논문의 키워드를 대상으로 내용분석(content analysis) 및 의미연결망 분석(semantic network analysis)을 실시함으로써 제주 지역 관련 교육 연구의 지식 구조와 연구 동향을 검토하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 제주 관련 교육 연구는 교육학의전 영역에 걸쳐서 고루 이루어졌으며, 전반적으로 교육행정 및 교육 자치에 대한연구가 주를 이루는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 분석의 전반기의 연구와 후반기의 연구는 연구의 키워드와 주제에 있어서 상이한 양상을 보여주었는데, 전반기에는 주로 교육자치와 관련된 교육행정과 제도의 측면이 주로 다루어진 반면, 후반기에는 보다다양한 교육의 분야에 대하여 다루어진 것으로 나타났다. 이어서 본 연구 결과에대한 논의와 함께 향후 연구 방향에 대한 제안을 제시하였다.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the research trends in education related to Jeju region and to explore the direction of education research in the future. For this purpose, 175 articles published in peer-reviewed journals were collected among studies that dealt with education in Jeju or had Jeju as a background. Then, content analysis and semantic network analysis were conducted to examine the knowledge structure and research trends of educational research related to Jeju region. The study results are as follows. First, education research related to Jeju was conducted evenly across all areas of education, and overall, it was found that research on education administration and educational autonomy system was the main focus. Second, the research in the first half of the analysis and the research in the second half showed different aspects in terms of keywords and themes of the study. Then, along with a discussion on the results of this study, suggestions for future research directions were presented.
