이 글은 칼뱅의 중보자 그리스도의 삼중직에 관한 연구이다. 그리스도의삼중직은 그의 중보자론에 기초한다. 그가 영원한 중보자이기에, 창조중보자와 구원중보자가 되신다. 그리스도의 인격은 그가 행한 사역을 통해 인식되지만 그의 사역의 기초이다. 인격과 사역은 분리할 수 없다. 칼뱅은 초기에는 루터를 따라 그리스도의 왕직과 제사장직만 언급하다가, 부처의 영향 아래에 그리스도의 삼중직을 주장하기 시작한다. 선지자로서 그리스도는 구약 선지자들의 가르침 전체를 요약하고 완성한다. 그가 완전한 지혜가 되시기에, 하나님과 우리 자신을 아는 지식은 그리스도의 선지자직에서 찾는다. 그리스도의 왕직은 지상에서 시작했고, 천상에서 계속되고, 종말에 완성된다. 그리스도의 왕직은 영원하다. 교회의 영원성과 신자의 불멸성은 그리스도 왕직의 영원성에 근거한다. 그리스도의 왕직은 영적이다. 신자는 세상을 경멸하고 마음을 드높여 하나님 우편에서 통치하는 그리스도에게로 향하는 자이다. 제사장으로서 그리스도는 모든 악을 제거한다. 그리스도는 하나님과 우리 사이를 중보하고, 스스로 제사물이 되심으로써 우리를 향한 하나님의 진노를 그치고 하나님 앞으로 나아갈 길을 열어놓았다. 그는 속죄와 화해의 역할을 감당한 제사장이다. 선지자, 왕, 제사장으로서의 그리스도의 직분은 겸비와 승귀의 상태 모두에 해당한다. 따라서 그리스도의 삼중직은 과거의 행하셨던 일에 대한 교훈으로 머물지 않고 삼중직의 은혜가 현재적으로 신자에게 베풀어진다. 이 점에서 칼뱅의 삼중직은 구원론적이다. 구원은 머리로부터 몸 전체로 퍼진다. 그리스도인은 그리스도를 통해서 성령의 기름부음을 받아 선지자직과 왕직과 제사장직에 참여한다. 삼중직은 그리스도인의 삶과 관계한다. 성령에 의해 그리스도와 연합한 그리스도인은 예언자가 되어 세상을 향해 하나님의 말씀을 선포하고 제사장과 왕이 되어 악과 싸우고 그것을 통제한다.
The purpose of this article is to study Calvin’s the triple office of Christ. The triple office of Christ is based on the doctrine of Mediator. He is the eternal Mediator: Mediator of creation and Mediator of redemption. Christ’s person is recognized through his work. Christ’s person is the basis of his work. Person and work are inseparable. As a prophet, Christ summarizes and completes the entire teachings of the Old Testament. As he becomes perfect wisdom, the knowledge of God and of human is found in Christ’s prophetic office. Christ’s royal office began on earth, continues on heaven, and is eschatologically completed. It is eternal. The eternity of the church and the immortality of believers are based on the eternity of Christ’s royal office. Christ mediated between God and us and became his own sacrifice. He stopped God’s wrath against us and opened the way for us to go before God. Christ is the priest of atonement and reconciliation. Christ’s office as a prophet, king, and priest is related to state of humility and exaltation. Calvin’s the threefold office of Christ is soteriological. Salvation is extended from the head to the whole body. Christians are anointed by the Holy Spirit through Christ and participate in triple offices of Christ. This is related to the Christian life. Christian as prophet proclaims the word of God to the world, as priest and king he fight evil and govern evil.
