본 연구는 영화의 등장인물의 이미지와 의상과의 관련성을 분석하기 위한 방법으로서 음양오행을 분 석도구로 활용하여 등장인물의 이미지와 의상과의 관련성을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이 연구를 위하여 본 연구자는 음양오행 연구를 통하여 영화 <박열>의 주요등장인물들을 중심으로 음양오행에 의 한 캐릭터 이미지를 도출하였으며, 그 분석도구를 활 용하여 분석의 주요 요소인 의상에 대하여 분석하였 다. 음양오행의 체형으로 본 오행상으로 표현되는 인 물의 얼굴형과 거기에 나타나는 성격을 바탕으로 영 화의 등장인물의 상관관계를 조사하고 실질적으로 등장인물의 의상에 나타나는 상징적 의미는 무엇인 가를 분석하고자 하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 이준익 감독의 2017년 6월28일에 개봉한 <박열>을 대상으로 하였으며, 일제 강점기를 배경으로 한 캐릭터이미지 에 대한 영화의상과의 관련성을 음양오행에 바탕을 두고 영화는 어떻게 표현 하였는가를 알아보고 음양 오행에 따른 주요 캐릭터들의 성격 및 그에 따른 의 상들과의 상관관계를 알아본다. 영화 <박열>은 일제 강점기를 배경으로 한 아나키스트적인 박열과 가네 코 후미코의 이야기를 다루고 있다. 주요등장인물 5 명이 서로 각기 다른 성격묘사와 이미지를 각각 다 르게 표현함으로써 관객으로 하여금 영화를 이해하 는데 도움을 주었다. 등장하는 주요 캐릭터들을 음양 오행의 체형상으로 살펴본 결과‘박열’은 목(木), 토 (土)의 성격을,‘미즈노 렌타로’는 토(土)의 성격 을,‘가네코 후미코’는 화(火)의 성격을‘다테마스 가이세이’는 금(金)의 성격을 그리고‘마키노’는 금(金)의 음양오행 요소들과 같은 성격들의 증후들을 띄고 있었다. 또한 법정 장면에서 박열과 가네코 후 미코가 입고 등장한 의상은 등장인물들의 심리상태 와 당시 사법체계를 비판한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 첫째, 음양오행이란 학문적 체계가 아직 등장 인물들의 분석에 체계적으로 활용되지 못하고 있다 는 점이다. 둘째, 이러한 한계점으로 인하여 음양오 행 중심의 시도와는 달리 자칫 기존의 등장인물의 표현기법으로 이루어지는 데 대한 하나의 지류가 될 가능성이 있다는 점이다. 셋째, 음양오행의 오방색이 라는 색깔에 갇혀 자칫 의상디자이너의 개성과 표현 성을 가로막는 단점이 있을 수 있다.
The purpose of this study is to derive the relationship between the character's image and costume by using yin, yang, and five elements as an analysis tool as a method for analyzing the relationship between the character's image and costume. For this study, this researcher derived character images by yin-yang-Five element, focusing on the main characters of the movie <Park Yeol>, and analyzed costumes, a major element of analysis, using the analysis tool. Based on the face shape of the character expressed in the five elements as seen in the body shape of yin, yang, and five elements, the correlation between the characters in the movie is investigated and the symbolic meaning of the characters' costumes is analyzed. Therefore, this study targets director Lee Joon-ik's “Park Yeol,” which was released on June 28, 2017, and examines how the movie was expressed based on the relationship between yin and yang and the costumes. The movie “Park Yeol” tells the story of anarchist Park Yeol and Kaneko Fumiko set in Japanese colonial era. The five main characters helped the audience understand the movie by expressing different personality and images differently. As a result of examining the main characters in the body shape of Yin-Yang-Five element, However, first, the academic system of yin-yang and five elements has not yet been systematically used for the analysis of characters. Second, due to these limitations, unlike attempts centered on yin-yang and five elements, there is a possibility that it will become a tributary of the existing character's expression techniques. Third, there may be a disadvantage in that it is trapped in the five colors of yin, yang, and five elements and hinders the individuality and expression of the costume designer.
