酒令은 술을 즐겁게 마시기 위한 놀이문화이다. 음주문화가 시작될 때부터 단순한 주령이 시작되었다고 볼 수 있다. 兩漢 때 시작하여 唐나라 때 전성을 이루었으며, 宋에서는 대중화되었으며, 명과 청 때에는 다양화되었다. 주령의 종류는 대체로 유희령, 승부령, 문자령으로 나누는데, 연회의 분위기와 상황에 맞추어 그때그때 규칙을 바꿀 수 있다. 우리의 문헌에 보이는 주령은 승부령과 문자령이 대부분이다. 다양한 기예를 겨루어 승부에 따라 벌주를 마시는 승부령은 활쏘기와 투호가 있다. 문자령인 유상곡수는 모든 시대마다 즐긴 기록이 있으며, 그때마다 왕희지의 난정고사를 인용하고 있다. 유상곡수는 시를 짓지 못하면 벌주를 마시는 일반적인 주령과는 다르게 술을 마실 사람을 정하는 놀이이다. 문자령에서 많이 보이는 주령은 각촉부시와 작시령이다. 각촉부시는 詩作 공부를하는 와중에 그동안의 성취를 알아보기 위해 간단한 시험으로 많이 이용되었다. 문사들이 가장 많이 즐겼던 문자령은 작시령이다. 작시령은 정해진 시간과 정해진 주제, 韻字 등을 모두 만족하는 시를 지어야 하기 때문에 일정한 수준의 문사들만이 즐길 수 있다. 또한 작시령을 즐길 때면 항상 석숭의 금곡원 고사를 언급하고 그에 따라 벌주를 시행하였다.
Drinking Game(Ju-ryeong) is a play culture to enjoy drinking alcohol. It started in the Han dynasty of China, reached its peak during the Tang dynasty, became popular in the Song dynasty, and diversified during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The rules of the game can be changed at any time according to the mood and situation of the banquet. Drinking Game shown in our literature are mostly Win-Lose Game(Seungbu-ryeong) and Composing Game(Munja-ryeong). Win-Lose Game which competes in various ways to drink as punishment includes archery and Touhu. Goksu(Curve-Stream) Banquet which is one of the Composing Game has a record of being enjoyed in every era, and each time citing the Nanjung incident of Wang Hei-ji. Goksu(Curve-Stream) Banquet is a game where you decide who to drink, unlike the general Drinking Custom, where you drink as punishment if you can't compose a poem. What we see a lot in Composing Game are a game of writing a poem by marking the candle on a scale and until the scale burns.(Gagchokbusi) and a poetry game(Jaksi-ryeong). Gagchokbusi was often used as a simple test to check the achievements while studying poetry writing. Composing Game that the literati enjoyed the most was the Jaksi-ryeong. It can only be enjoyed by literary scholars of a certain level because poetry must be written that satisfies all of the set time, subject, and rhyme. Also, whenever Jaksi-ryeong was enjoyed, Seok-sung's Geumgokwon event was mentioned and implemented to drink as punishment accordingly.
