본 연구의 목적은 내용분석을 통해 브라질 보우소나루 대통령의 정치담화 이면에 숨어있는 이데올로기와 이해관계를 밝혀 그 중심가치를 파악하고 신 전환기를 맞고 있는 브라질 정치지형 변화의 추이를 살펴보는 데 있다. 보우소나루의 정치 담론을 분석하기 위한 방법론으로 대통령 취임사 핵심 키워드, 유엔 연설문, 소셜미디어에서 사용한 언어를 중심으로 단어 빈도분석을 수행하여 비판적 담화 분석방법에 활용하였다. 이 연구는 대통령의 정치적 담화 분석을 통해 정치지형 변화의 규칙성에 접근할 수 있었다는 데 그 의의가 있다. 우리는 이번 연구를 통해 좌우 진영에 상관없이 국가가 국민의 신뢰를 잃을 때 민주주의가 위기에 빠질 수 있고, 그 결과로 검증이 안 된 위험인물이 얼마든지 대중의 인기를 얻고 민주주의 절차에 따라 선출될 수 있다는 교훈을 얻을 수 있었다. 향후 브라질 정치지형의 변화를 좀 더 거시적인 시각으로 보기 위해서 시대별 대통령들의 연설문을 비교분석하는 연구가 필요할 것이다.
The purpose of this study is to reveal the ideology and interests hidden behind Bolsonaro’s political discourse for understanding its core values and the trend of changes in political topography. To analyze the political discourses, word frequency analysis was performed centering on key keywords in the inauguration speech, UN speech, and language used in social media. This study is significant in that it was possible to approach the regularity of political topography in Brazil. In this study, we were able to learn that democracy could be in crisis when the state lost public trust regardless of the left and right camps, and unverified risk figures could gain public popularity and be elected according to democratic procedures. In the future, it is necessary to follow up a study that reads changes in Brazil’s political topography from comparative analysis with speeches by presidents of each era.
