이 연구는 20세기 전반기 한국어학의 학술 네트워크를 고찰하기 위하여, 경성제국대학 예과와 법문학부에서 스승과 제자 등으로 학술 관계를 형성하며 한국어학에 지대한 영향을 미친 학자들 가운데 ‘고바야시 히데오(小林英夫, 1903~1978)’와 ‘이숭녕(李崇寧, 1908~1994)’, 그리고 ‘김수경(金壽卿, 1918~2000)’을 중심으로 고찰하고자 한다. 고바야시 히데오는 제국 일본의 언어학자로 경성제국대학에 부임하여 소쉬르의 언어학과 같은 서구 언어이론을 소개하는 등 당시의 조선인 제자들에게 많은 영향을 끼친 인물 중의 한 명이었으나, 지금까지 한국어학사에서 크게 주목받지 않았다는 점에서 고찰의 의의가 있다. 그리고 이숭녕과 김수경은 각각 서울대학교와 김일성종합대학교라고 하는 남한과 북한의 최고 대학에서 한국어를 연구하고 제자를 양성하면서 광복 이후 각 체제의 국어 정책에 관여했다는 점에서 이들의 학문적 배경과 영향관계를 고찰할 필요가 있다. 한편 이 연구에서는 고바야시 히데오와 이숭녕 그리고 김수경의 영향관계를 고찰함은 물론, 이들을 중심으로 이루어진 다른 학자와의 영향관계도 함께 고찰하고자 한다. 그것은 이러한 고찰을 통해 이들의 학문적 배경을 좀 더 명확히 알 수 있고, 이들의 학문적 차이를 이해할 수 있기 때문이다. 이 연구를 통해 식민지와 제국, 남북한의 분단이라는 20세기 전반기의 시대 상황과 한국어학을 관련시켜 고찰하는 계기가 되기를 기대한다.
This study is to examine the academic network of Korean Linguistics in the first half of the 20th century, focusing on Hideo Kobayashi(1903~1978), Lee Sungnyeong(1908~ 1994), and Kim Sookyung(1918~2000) among scholars who formed academic relations with teachers and students in the Kyungsung Imperial University. Hideo Kobayashi was a linguist of Imperial Japan and was appointed to Kyungsung Imperial University. He was one of the scholars who had a great influence on Korean students at that time, but it is meaningful in that he has not been noticed in Korean linguistics history until now. In this study, I will consider the influence relationship between Hideo Kobayashi, Lee Sung-nyeong and Kim Soo-kyung, as well as the influence relationship with other scholars. This is because these considerations can clarify their academic background and understand their academic differences. Through this study, I hope that this study will be an opportunity to examine the situation of the early 20th century, that is the division, the colonies and the empires, with Korean Linguistics
