The purpose of this study aims to analyze the effects of participation motive and constraints for sports tourism events. In total, 532 cases were surveyed and analyzed by 218 korean participants in the tsushima border marathon. The received responses used SPSS 20.0 by statistical package. The consequences of this research is presented as follows: First, the factors of exchange, self-development, and emotion were extracted from the motivation for participating in sports tourism. Second, the difference between economic problems, safety, and culture was found in the constraint factors. Third, sports tourists have various differences in motivation and constraint factors depending on the type of event they participate in, the distance to the event venue, and the tourist characteristics of the tourist destination
