본 연구는 만 4, 5세 유아들의 그림을 통해 괴롭힘에 대한 인식과 개념을 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 경기도 S시에 위치한 D 유치원의 만 4, 5세 유아 109명이었다. 연구자료를 수집하기 위해 연구자는 유아에게 괴롭힘에 대한 경험이나 생각을 그림으로 그리고, 이에 대한 설명을 언어적으로 표현하도록 요청하였다. 유아의 괴롭힘에 대한 그림은 Mey와Dietrich가 제시한 시각적근거이론방법(Visual Grounded Theory Methodology)의 단계에 따라 이미지 분석을 하였다. 또한, R프로그램의 텍스트 마이닝(Text mining) 기법 중 하나인 동시출현단어분석을 수행하여 유아의 괴롭힘에 대한 언어적 표현에서 주요한 개념을 나타내는 단어를찾고, Gephi 0.9.2 프로그램으로 단어의 연결 네트워크를 시각화하여 분석하였다. 이미지 분석결과, 유아들은 괴롭힘이 주로 친구 관계에서 발생하며, 괴롭힘 상황에서 주변 인물들은 관여하지 않는다는 인식을 하고 있었다. 때리기나 밀치기, 소리를 지르거나 놀리기, 따돌리거나놀이를 못 하게 하기, 물건을 빼앗기 등을 괴롭힘 행동으로 인식하였다. 괴롭힘은 주로 유치원의 놀이 및 일상생활 속에서 발생하며, 괴롭힘을 하는 사람은 즐거움 또는 분노의 감정을느끼지만, 괴롭힘을 당하는 사람은 슬픔과 분노 감정을 갖는다고 인식하였다. 유아의 그림에대한 설명을 텍스트 분석한 결과, 유아들은 괴롭힘을 ‘친구가 싫은 말이나 행동을 계속 하면서 속상하고 불편하게 하는 것’이라는 개념을 가지고 있었다.
The purpose of this study is to examine the perception and concept of bullying through pictures of 4 and 5 year olds. The subjects of this study were 109 children aged 4 and 5 in D kindergarten located in S city, Gyeonggi-do. To collect the data, the researcher asked the young children to draw a picture of the experience or thought about bullying and to express the explanation of it verbally. The picture of the bullying of the children was analyzed according to the stage of Visual Grounded Theory Methodology proposed by Mey and Dietrich. In addition, the co-occurrence network analysis, which is one of the text mining techniques of the R program, was conducted to find words that represent the main concepts in linguistic expressions of bullying of young children. And then the connection network of words was visualized and analyzed with the Gephi 0.9.2 program. As a result of image analysis, children perceived bullying mainly occurs among friends. Young children perceived bullying behaviors such as hitting, pushing, screaming, teasing, excluding or not playing, and taking things away. Also, bullying occurs in kindergarten play and everyday life, and the bully person feels pleasure or anger, but the victim person feels sadness and anger. As a result of analyzing the text of the explanation of the picture of the young children, the young children had the concept of bullying as “as a continuing of words or actions that the friend disliked which made the experience sad and uncomfortable.”
